Hi everyone! Long time lurker first time poster. I’ve have a 5 year old sphynx - Kirkey Turkey and am headed to get my new baby at the end of March. I feel in love with the breed as someone with severe allergies who cant handle being around their furry counterparts and for their dog/cat/monkey personalities . Any tips for introductions or for feeding two cats would be appreciated I love seeing pictures of everyone’s baby’s so here are a few of mine.

-Xoxo Catmom2

@Catmom2 , so glad you jumped in to this fun friendly bunch to share adorable Kirkey Turkey! (love the name ) and announce your upcoming gotcha ! keep us posted on the gotcha day! I am sure your heart is going pitter patter with anticipation. so excited for you and for us for lots of pics and tales of Kirkey Turkey and your upcoming baby (kitten or adult?)
I always recommend setting up a wellness check ahead of time for the newbie ( and bring a fresh stool sample) before any introductions. . a kitty safe room set up (food, litter box ,toys etc) and slow introductions has always worked well for my crew. I fed separately and slowly moved dish from kitty safe room to main feeding area . if your newbie is a kitten on different food from Kirkey Turkey, there are several members posts sharing their introductions and experiences. here is a helpful thread

hugs n head smooches.

Welcome! You must be so excited. We separated our kitten from the others for a full week. we wanted to be sure she bonded with us first. We took turns sleeping with her in the spare room. We turned the cat trees on their side. kittens just can’t keep up with their minds and some trees are just. Bit too high for them to play safely. Can’t wait for your Gotcha Day pics. Your Kirkey Turkey is very handsome. We always feed the kittens what food the breeder had them on and slowly transition them over.
