I am so happy to have found this community! My boyfriend and I just moved into our new apartment and we're looking to provide a furrever home to the perfect Sphynx when the opportunity presents itself. We live in the Westchester County, NY area and I look forward to participating in this online community and learning as much as I can.

@lynda hollis , keep positive :)
I have 4 adoptees :)

two adoptees from right here on the lair from a member

Oh that is SO Awesome!!! They're such awesome cats. I'm just teeming with excitement at the idea of owning one. I know they need to be bathed weekly and their ears need to be cleaned daily, but do they like water to be bathed that frequently and is there a special shampoo for them?

@lynda hollis , so excited for you in search - great questions :)
Lol my adoptees hate spa day as do many -
Others love it -
breeders often start them early so they get used to it but it must be done consistently
Lots of patience and practice -
I no longer have to wear a sweatshirt to Bath them :)

You will read lots of good recommendations from members
I personally love Hylyt shampoo and Avenalyt Shampoo - soap free hypoallergenic , ez rinse and smells great :)
Hylyt was recommended to me from a member when I got my babies.
I also got the stokkes flexibath with drain plug to use on the bathroom counter - great height , folds away for storage
My kitites tolerate it waaaay better than tub or kitchen Sink-
I put a towel on the bottom of it , keep plug out to drain in sink (perfect for my water haters)
I use exfoliating gloves and baby face clothes :)

you will get your baby and see what works
my one girl is wrinkly oily do both every ten fasts or so
Other 3 can go 3 weeks
As long as I do in between wipe downs
You don't want to wash too often

You will see all the posts about bath time :)

Ears I clean 2x a week with trizultra with Keto I get at vet or online
It can be used on skin too ..so multi purpose -

Have used it for over 10 yrs for both dogs and cats
I think it last larger for my babies than popular Epi otic

Lots of great info here and fun games while you await the stars to align:)

Are you considering interviewing reputable breeders for retiring kitties for adoption?
I got s womderful girl this way :)

So much great information! Thank you so very much! I have never even considered looking into interviewing breeders to see if they're retiring any wonderful kitties, but I will do just that. I was just denied adopting a stray Sphynx from a rescue 40 min away bc they "only delivered their animals and I lived too far." :( I was sad for a minute, but I decided she just wasn't the one for me and I will find a baby of my own.
