I’m having a dumb moment and cant find the right search term. My furry Foxy has licked her tummy until the skin is lightly broken. Is there something besides Vetricyn that everyone recommends? I want to keep her away from it without the dreaded cone.

@tuffysmommy , can you share a photo?
I use vetericyn too.
if you think a hotspot my go to for my rottie who got hot spots was vet suggested a few drops of Povidone ( that red stuff like the hospital uses betadine) mixed in a bowl of water till near tea color. (I added a drop of trizchlor4 shampoo I had on hand) . I dab area and then pat dry 3 x's a day. No cone ever needed. Sam had some big narly hot spot on his neck. I did not shave area personally.

mixing it carefully with just a few teenie drops till light tea color I have never had any staining.

My vet always asks me what I have on hand ( God knows the crew has their own shelf of stuff).. vet always has recommended me use povidone and the trizchlor4. really helped clear up sam pup. I get the 18 pack of white 100% cotton face cloths at walmart in their stash.
you can ask your vet about the povidone and trizchlor4 if okay for Foxy.
speedy recovery vibes!

please keep me updated. hugs n head smooches

Hi, good morning…some days I wish I was a single cat mom. Dad is not a fan of clothes on a sphynx…for Foxy it would be an uphill battle…

Its under there….

So Foxy got her Solensia shot today. As usual she came home like a happy camper played with everything she could find and curled up on the floor kicking Toni’s stick of dynamite. They say she’s licking herself because of stress and gave us a antibiotic salve Mupirocin to use in addition to the vetricyn. Sure its stressful. Mommy was gone for a week. Daddy comes flying home and Mommy and Daddy run out and come back after dinnertime. Mommy is home all the time…should Foxy, the clairvoyant, not have noticed???
