How big do sphynx get, and what age do they reach full maturity?

About a month ago I received my first sphynx kitten, Elvira. Shes about 13 weeks now and only weighs 2.7 pounds, I was wondering if someone could give me an idea if she is going to be a small, medium, or large cat? And when will she stop growing?

Hello and welcome. I wish there was an easy answer. Girls are usually smaller than boys, so hopefully someone with a girl or two can chime in.

Max was just over 3 lbs at 12 weeks, and now at nearly 9 months he's almost 9 lbs. His daddy is a big kitty, so it stands to reason, but there are even larger kitties here!

When we got our last 2 girls, our contract said to spay/neuter at 6 months or 5 pounds which ever comes first...so I have always used that as a pretty good point of reference. Keep in mind girls are usually a bit smaller than males. You got your baby a bit on the young side...as most breeders do not let them go to homes until 12-14 weeks. So it might be harder to determine as your was away from their Mommy a bit too early. She will catch up eventually. Just keep a watchful eye.

My girl is 12 years old and weights about 6.5 lbs. I rescued her at age 3 and not quite sure when she was spayed.

My boy is 9 years old and weighs in at a sturdy 11.5 lbs. he is also very tall and stands almost 3 feet tall st the top of his head when standing on his hind legs. He is very muscular and was neutered at 6 months. He is one solid boy, not overweight at all, slim and sleek.

Welcome to sphynxlair for you and Elvira! I think it's hard to tell the normal size of a sphynx. We do have members here with very big sphynx (Max from @Xandria:) and with tiny ones (Toothless from @MelissaAlice). One of my boys weighted 2.3 pounds when he was 3 months old, the other one almost 3 lbs. Now they're 8 months old and weigh about 8lbs.

Curious how big or small Elvira will be in a few months!
