Human baby killed and eaten by mother (Warning: this story is disturbing!)

I just had the misfortune of reading this awful story on Yahoo news:

I'm posting it here because reading stuff like this upsets and angers me. I could really use the support and comments from my Sphynx Lair friends right now. Not only does the way this baby was killed really bothers me, but it's also the fact that crazy, screwed up people like that awful woman can have children (when they don't deserve them!), whereas a normal loving person like myself has never been able to have kids. Where's the justice in that?

People like that woman most likely neglect and abuse animals, too. Good thing that woman killed herself, because she doesn't deserve to live after what she did.

I often wonder how parents can abuse children, or even how father's can be absent - those things don't make sense to me, and yet they pale in comparison to this story... sick, and so sad, and totally not fair.

I know...weren't the warning signs already there? The family said they noticed that she was acting insane....why in the world did they leave the baby alone with her???

And this story gets worse....apparently I missed the part in the story that said that she survived her wounds and is recovering in the hospital right now (my tears were blocking my view when I originally read this story). So that means that this monster is still ALIVE!!! Knowing our justice system, she'll probably get off on an insanity charge.

Sick very very sick! I have 2 children and could not ever imagine ever harming them let alone doing what she did? Insane or not? I get that people have problems but where was someone to help the poor baby, the dad or sobbing Aunt like the add said ? The system is so messed up I manage A pediatrician office and dyfs calls every day so they inquire about the # they need for the month but 99% of the time it is just good people and the bad ones get A look in the other direction because that would actualy require work on their part I see this mom lived and my first reaction was that she shoud of died, but now she will have to live with this forever and I am sure the world will not be kind to her, I hope she suffers and has A life of pain and distress!

ilovemysphynx, you're so right that she should have died. Like I said before, though, she'll probably get off on an insanity charge, but I really hope she gets the death penalty. Regardless of what happens to her, I hope she'll rot in hell for eternity for what she did!

That is such a shame! Can you all believe you can go out and kill your own blood and get off with a plea of insanity? What a joke. If someone was eager enought to bring a child in this world what right do they think they have to take it out of this world without the innocent childs voice? The devil? Come on that woman was mad at the father and something switched off in her brain to take it out on that poor victim. This is why people should be screened before they have a child. There should be a whole routine women should go through and the men before anyone brings a child into the world now a days. We do it with animals when someone is adopting. Why not with people? It would bring more educated parents and wanted children into the world.

There should be a whole routine women should go through and the men before anyone brings a child into the world now a days. We do it with animals when someone is adopting. Why not with people? i actually cried after reading just a paragraph of this. This was just the straw to break the camel's back for me though. I work at an apartment complex, and we are going through hell and high water with one of the residents who is determined, despite her mental illness (bipolar disorder as well as manic depression and compulsive lying), to keep this little 4 pound yorkshire terrier as her "emotional support" (her words)... IT SHOULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND. this is just infuriating. this crazy-ass woman wouldn't take $2,000 we offered her (she loves on social security, so she pretty much lives hand to mouth) to put this poor dog in a safe home of a friend of the manager's with kids and other yorkies and dogs. crazy people who have helpless animals and children in their care... SO twisted. I can't decide whether to scream or to bawl.

Boy, that woman does sound crazy...especially not accepting $2K for a dog she can't take care of when she's obviously on a fixed income. I wish people could be throughly evaluated before having babies or adopting pets....there would probably be a lot less cases of abuse and neglect if that was the case.
