Oh my god, so I have been very busy but I can't belive I put my babies in danger. So Monday it was hot here in NJ, I came home from work and opened all the windows. (sounds great) then it was off to baseball for my son, (thank goodness it was A home game), I am there for like 1 and 1/2 hours and my cell phone rings it's my neighbor she says do you know that your sun room window is open with no screen? I panic oh my god the cats I run to my car and start speeding home, she said she can see one cat Leo sitting in there on the floor but can't see Athena:tinysmile_angry_t: I call my husband (aka admin) who is on his way from work to meet me at the game, where I just left our daughter sitting there not telling her where I was going. My neighbor who thank goodness is kind of nosey is standing in the garden looking for Athena I must have drove 100 mph. I am of course thinking the worst and crying before I even open the door. I come inside and there is Leo looking at me like what's wrong? I call for Athena run up stairs and there she is on my sons bed curled up without A clue that the window was ever open!:tinysmile_grin_t: I hugged and kissed them so much. Then hubby got home and I told him everything is ok, of course he was A bit mad for A while but it could of happened to him to, anyway he is the one that had the screen backwards in that window... Anyway they where safe and sound I don't think they would leave the house without us! Just be sure with the nice weather coming that you are all careful and don't make the mistake I did. One of my babies could have been hurt or gone forever. I would have never forgave myself! and yes we won the game:tinysmile_fatgrin_t

Congrats on winning the game! And thank god nothing bad happened to your kittys! I hate the heart drop into your stomach feeling! I did it once with the gate to the yard... needless to say when i realized it the dogs were both standing at the yard line with their heads sticking out the gate. They looked at me like we know we got it good here & ain't leaving. Isn't it funny how attached we become to our pets? Although if I could change one thing about owning pets is that they would live as long as us.

I still can't believe the two kitty's didn't go out, especially Athena being in heat right now and leo running around like a sex monger!:tinysmile_eyebrow_t

Lovemysphynx and admin, I did the exact same thing not too long ago when I first adopted my sphynx cat Piglet. One day I left my patio door open to get some air. I guess for some reason I thought that Piglet, being a strictly indoor cat, wouldn't want to go outside. Well, I underestimated the typical sphynx curiosity, because sure enough, Piglet slipped out the door to explore the great outdoors. Fortunately, my fiance went out to the patio to get some sun and found her before she wandered away too far. :tinysmile_aha_t:

So nowadays, if I have to open the patio door for any reason, I keep my eye on it like a hawk to make sure that Piglet doesn't get any more ideas to sneak outside!

my god!
I understand your panic !
I'm always very vigilant concerning my sphynxs because at home we have no classic windows, only patio-doors... When I open one of the patio doors, I keep my babies in a separate room, a cattery, we have made especially for them.
Inside this room there is a sofa, a cat tree, food and drink, several toys...
This way we are free to open the door to do a BBQ with friends or what else.

that must have been so scary! glad to hear they are okay and safe at home. Milky ran outside a few times in my fiance's old apartment. when we first got her as soon as we opened the front door she would wait and run out. thank god she just went to the bottom of the steps but its very scary. these cats cant survive outside. especially in this wierd NJ weather!

Can I have my own room? I have to share with my little naked friend. It can get uncomfortable sometimes with my lady friends. :tinysmile_shy_t:
He's got run of the house but he's almost always in my bedroom. I've tried placing various beds and blankets throughout the house so he could have a nice quiet place but he ignores them. On occasion he does sit in our dining room but never uses the blankets or beds I provide. He sits on our sturdy padded chairs and I know he gets cold because our dining room faces north.

Joking aside, I'm glad they're home and safe.

Your funny they do have there own rooms but that does not mean that they sleep in them one is for when athena has baby's and we have to keep Leo away from them when they are little and the other room is for the litter box so the dog will not eat the poop out of the litter box, the cats can get in but not the dog. So don't feel bad your not the only one who has trouble finding private time in the bedroom, we just stick them in the room with the kids and hope they are not too mad at us in the morning.:tinysmile_shy_t:
