Woooo!!! He's here! After months of patience since seeing him when he was just 5 weeks old, he's now purring and in and out of snoozing next to me.

What was great was coming back to the breeder's home and Icarus jumping up my leg knowing it was me. The trip back was amusing - had to go via public transport as there weren't any Uber taxi's local at the time. He can be a VERY vocal little Prince when he wants to be. Even with fleece covers and a large covered hot water bottle (that was luke warm, as opposed to boiling hot!) he needed my hand on him the whole way. Which made for amusing looks from commuters.

One was curious as to the breed and turned out to be an avid lover of Sphynx cats so we had a little chat about him as he was mewing for attention.

I thought getting him used to his new surroundings was going to be a bit difficult. Nope, 15-mins scoping every part of my living room and over half an hour of playing (apparently my feet are amusing, and I'm quite ticklish - who knew!) and he's fine. The 1-hour ninja nap was unexpected though! And he's still napping now after my brief break to go to the bathroom, get some food, change into my fleece spiderman onesie (which he LOVES) and get my laptop.

Tomorrow will be interesting when I'm building his cat tree! Yay!! ^_^

Building the cat tree tomorrow will be interesting.

Thankfully it's another day off. I only have one client tonight (I'm a freelance personal trainer) but it's been tough going to the kitchen and leaving him in the living room. He cries his head off!

That said, yes he's now getting comfortable with launching himself off the sofa onto my shelves. He's an avid fan of cables (joy). And likes to play "sit on mum's face and put my junk on her nose till she wakes up".

Part two tonight, migrating to my bedroom to see how he fares there.

@Emily0404 Icarus has found his lungs today!! Leaving the living room door open with access to the kitchen he'll just cry and cry and cry either till I start talking back at him (then he'll trot over) or I'm back in the room. And now he's decided that as he's mastered sitting on my shoulder he's given himself permission to launch himself at my back if I'm close enough to the sofa. Haaaaaa. I jumped a good distance myself the first time!

He seemed to do ok when I left for 2 hours. Set up a bunch of fleeces and a hot water bottle in the corner of a sofa, left the radio on and he was buried in it all when I got back. Mewing the second the door opened, naturally. :)

You know what I actually miss that!
Skully would launch herself from the floor all the way up to my shoulder and sit there while I was cooking, cleaning, getting ready, anything really. Elfie is to much of a Queen to do anything as fun as that

It's good to hear that he is settling in and really getting finding his place!

Love getting the updates!

Mo is terrible for choosing to jump on my shoulder when I only have a vest or a thin top on. Ooooouch! The nails when they dig in!

Congrats! He is a cutie pie! Sammi is our shoulder jumper/rider any chance she can get. Fortunately she's never gotten any bigger than about 6 pounds.

Max is a kamikaze pilot, I swear. He'll leap from anywhere to somewhere else, enduring a distance and trajectory I did not think possible. It scares me to death sometimes!

He's getting braver as the days go by! Yesterday I was away for about 9 hours but the heating was on, hot water bottles and fleeces abound and food. Still, when I came home his royal Lordship proceeded to tell me off and attempt to trip me up at every possible moment until he felt he had said his piece. I have found leaving a radio on keeps him in a better mood than sheer silence (and listening to the looney rantings of my upstairs neighbour, he's a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket)

He loves his cat tree and has taken to the scratch poles like a champ - still doesn't stop him from using my legs as scratch poles. My gym kit is getting it! I might have to tell my accountant that my gym kit allowance needs to go up for.....advanced wear and tear.

And then there's the suckling....first it was me, but now he's got the point I'm not up for it so he suckles himself at night. One mark on his leg I thought was due to hitting something - nope, it's his favourite suckle spot it would seem.

I've noticed he does get really oily really quickly. Sunday is bath day....warm towels at the ready!

Yep bath day here tomorrow too- I'm not feeling overly positive as he squeaked his head off when doing his nails today. Strangely he loved his ears being cleaned :)
