I woke up this morning and something was wrong with Godiva's right eye
It looks like a film has formed over her entire eye, including her pupil and I can't get her in to see a vet [I've been calling around since 7am and the earliest anyone could see her is the 28th]
Could she have hurt herself somehow and partially blinded her eye?
Is this Feline conjunctivitis and I'm just over reacting?

If anyone has dealt with this before, please tell me what, if anything, I can do
I'm at my wits end
Not the best start to the holidays, that's for sure

It is so hard to really see it in the picture. Is there any sneezing or coughing too? Is there another vet you can go to? I do not play with eyes and the 28th is far out. Do you have L-Lysine you can start up?

Sorry for the picture quality - the little miss wasn't in the mood to hold still
No discharge, no sneezing or coughing, just the milky film and puffiness
I don't have any on hand at the moment, but I'm picking some up as we speak
I've been calling every vet office in a 20 mile radius and every single one is booked solid til nearly New Years
I'm hoping she just got dust or something in it and this isn't an actual eye injury

Being that it is swollen it is probably (not a vet) the start of an infection like conjunctivitis. Google Eyebright solution. You might be able to get it at your local pharmacy or Walmart etc. . @themodifieddoll

Is there not any emergency vet service?
How can anyone become a Vet or Dr. of anything
and not see a patient, human or animal, in a emergency situation?
I just couldn't do that myself.

@themodifieddoll sorry to hear Godiva has this issue with here eye. It looks like (but always difficult to tell from a pic) like the eye of my girl Jade. She has this sometimes. I make a cotton ball with boiled water (cooled off of course) and make her eye clean. I do this several times a day. Most of the time her eye is better in a day r two. If not I get an eye ointment from the vet.
Sending healing vibes to Godiva.

UPDATE: Managed to locate the lone emergency vet in the area and got her in and...they're stumped
The couldn't find any lacerations or abrasions, no infectious tissue, excess pressure...just general irritation, which doesn't account for the change in iris color, so she's on antibiotic eye drops for the next 8 days
If things don't improve or get worse, we're off to an eye specialist

UPDATE PT 2: I figured out what was wrong and now I feel ridiculous
Her right eye cleared up completely, then yesterday she ran into a table leg face first chasing after a toy and the left eye now looks like the right one did
It was a bruise
She gave herself a black eye
I'm both relieved and amused - Godiva needs to dial it down a peg so I don't have an aneurysm
