We just moved into a house with stairs going up to the bedrooms. About 17 stairs. My cats are active 11 year olds but I'm concerned about possible joint damage to my cats little knees. They don't bound up them as they are still wary and my boy is clumsy after a vestibular syndrome episode a few years ago. I do give them cosequin to help their joints. Any advice would be helpful.

Thank you,

@Anna W Our older boys were much slower on the stairs when they were old men. I truly do not know if there is anything else to recommend for joint other than Cosequin. Our vet recommends it highly. The one thing we found was that with aging eyesight also becomes worse, so having a dim light on at night or a nightlight near the stairs would also help for them to maneuver more confidently. Having a litter box upstairs and downstairs is also a great idea so it puts less stress on them having to seek out the box if it is only on one level of your home.
