Many of you probably already read the Sphynx Breeder/Enthusiast Newsletter, but if you don't, you should check it out! There are lots of great articles for both breeders and owners, that cover topics from health to showing to breeding and everything in between. It's a great read and ALL ABOUT SPHYNX!!

You can also download all of the past issues and read those, too...lots of good info there! I like to print them out and save them like magazines.

PS - this issue has a memorial section that had me crying like a baby (at work) AND, a costume section - I saw Mews2Much's Cleo in there!!

There are alot of sad stories in there.
I am glad that I traced Harolds Ped for you.
Its to bad Siggy is in both Wrinkles and Harolds ped.
I am trying to get Wrinkles breeder to scan her cats.
The SBEN is always great.
The Christmas picture of Cleo is from last Christmas.

I know, the Memorial section had me crying from one page to the next... Siggy was Harold's grandfather, and I'm pretty sure Harold's dad had HCM, too. He's further back in Wrinkles' ped, so hopefully far enough back that she's ok. To give you an idea, Harold was part of a litter of 3, 2 of them died last year from HCM, the 3rd one is still alive and scanning HCM clear. Harold would have turned 7 years old next week.

Maybe you can forward this issue SBEN to Wrinkles breeder, and show her what HCM does to the owners who've lost their cats to the disease...make it personal for her. Until she experiences it for herself, she just doesn't realize how devastating it is. For something that can be prevented by scanning, it's very sad.

I didn't see the Christmas pic of Cleo, but I saw her in her Cleopatra costume!

Brooke,
That section made me cry also.
Wrinkles breeder gets the SBEN so she will read this issue.
I told her to join SBEN and tried to get her to join TCS and Sphynx Lair.
She joined the breeders list and the SBEN list after I confronted her about Sir Noah a cat that was Neg in Georgia and tested Pos in Sweden.
It was posted he was pos on the breeders list.
I have a letter from the sires breeder saying he is Neg.
Also Wrinkles sire was scanned and is Neg also.
There are 3 pictures of Cleo in the SBEN.
The Christmas picture is her wearing a red thing around her neck.
There is also a Thanksgiving picture of her.
Wrinkles pictures did not get in the SBEN.
This will be a hard week for you.
Today is 2 years since my Stormy was pts from ARF.
It was so sudden and unfair.

Mews2much, I'm glad you're being a mentor to Wrinkles breeder and that she is willing to take your advice!

You're right, this is a difficult time. This exact time last year, my dog had just been pts and Harold was just starting to get sick. I don't think the pain will ever go away. They say time heals these things, but as soon as I saw his photo in SBEN yesterday I burst out in tears. I wonder if it ever gets easier? I still don't think I've gone a whole week in the past year without crying!

I'm sorry about Stormy. Hugs for you today.

Thanks Brooke,
I made people cry at the TICA show last weekend.
They were asking where Ty was and when I told them what happened they cried.
You will always cry when you see pics.
Bdays and anivs of th day they died are the worse.
If you look on my facebook you will see Stormys pic.
I posted about her today.
Goldenkitty45/Martice lost her Charlie which was terrible.
He was her Oci she showed before she got Jack.
She gave me good info on showing in CFA before I ever showed.
Who knew TY and Charlie would both die weeks apart.
This time last year was good for me.
I was waiting for Cleo to come.
Who knew this year would be terrible.
I went to another funeral yesterday.
So sorry about you losing your dog last year.
We lost our dog on Dec 4th about 5 years ago but she was 15.
She was a GSH and we adopted her from the pound at age 1.5.
