Jez is being very good with taking the tablets and she's had both her ointments for the day (3x daily)
Pixie was complaining, because it's not fair that Jez gets attention...so since she's having an outbreak of conjunctivitis (probably caught from Jez, who probably caught it originally from Pixie...who.... you get the idea.), she got a dose of Floxal as well, and will continue to get that while I treat Jez, so they don't cross contaminate each other.
It's all go at my house!

Her eye is SO much better already.
If you look at the left eye, you can see the corner is all raised and swollen.
Well... that's golden, compared to the red infected bulge it was. (Wish I'd thought to take a pic before.)
Also, she's not squinting all the time and there is no gunk all the time. (Which lets me finally clean up the track going down to her nose, which is always crusty and sore, so I'm very careful with cleaning it. You can still see rests of it, but it's a million times better than it was two days ago.)
Not sure if it's the tablets, or the ointment -- but something is working.

That's the most recent I have. See the left eye? That's what it was like while treating with Virgan. It got worse after this was taken, hence the trip to the eye specialist, since it didn't improve at all.

Happy to see good results. I hadn't seen this thread but FWIW one of mine has herpes or conjunctivitis or upper respiratory (they call it all 3 things). Usually I just clean her eye. One time it got really bad so I had to give her meds. Luckily it worked.

Keep up the good work, mum!

Definitely better. The corner is still puffy, but no longer red and horrible, and still no gunk.
We'll see what the vet says tomorrow. :)

I was given a solid thumbs up from the vet, who exclaimed "Tres bien!" when I opened the cat basket. :)
She'll have the rest of the tablets (Sunday and a bit on Monday), then she's off those, but continuing with the eye ointments for another 2-3 weeks of 3x daily, so she has a new prescription in case I run out.
He wants to see her again in 2-3 weeks, unless the eye gets worse again.

When we were done, I went to the counter to pay for the visit... and he waved me off with a "Have a nice weekend" lol.
I've never NOT been charged by the vet!!!

Wow! What a great experience! I’m so relieved that she is doing so well now.

She is a real trooper when it comes to taking her tablet, and the ointment. I think she knows it helps.
And now that it's not swollen, watery and gunky anymore, it makes putting the ointment on much easier.
I think she holds still because now it doesn't hurt.

And when the tablet is swallowed... she runs straight to the drawer where the treats are kept, to get her lysine treat lol.
It's hilarious sometimes, because she'll see me coming with the tablet...and runs straight to the drawer. :p
Newp... that's not how that works lol.

@Silke Really good to hear that things are going in the right direction for you, Jez and now also Pixie!!? Is it Pixie in the pictures? What a gorgeous girl! Sorry for asking as it's probably mentioned earlier in this thread, but what medicines have Jez been on these last couple of weeks?

@Yoda mom kindly asked how my Butchie was doing on the other thread, but I thought I'd answer on this one since we have been dealing with similar health issues! :) Well, he's the same really! Having just got a baby brother for him, I got a bit paranoid and the vet reassured me there's a prescription of Clavaseptin on stand-by in case of a flare up following the introduction of Vincent. But his chronic issues are not less and not more than usual right now.

Her eye is sooooooooooo much better than it ever was.
I did post the meds above somewhere. She was on a dental thingy because it's mild antibiotic and she didn't need a heck of a lot, as the count for the myco was quite low apparently.
She's off the tablets now, but still on eye ointments for the next 2 weeks.

Not quite there yet, but miles better than it was.
90678

Getting pics of her looking at the camera is nearly impossible lol
90679

You can see the brown spot (top left, on right eye) a little bit here.

90681

@Cinafina -- Pixie is the one behind Jez. They don't like each other much. :p Pixie wanted the spot on the radiator, and scooched up over time...until Jez vacated the board lol.
90680

She's almost got Jez off there.
(Jez is not innocent btw. When Pixie goes to the toilet through the cat flap in the bathroom door... Jez will park her butt outside the cat flap and wait for Pixie to want to come out... so she can clobber her while she's in the flap.)

I think Pixie would actually miss them if they were gone, even though she always picks on Livvy, and gets her knickers in a twist over Jez. :)

So good to see the progress! {} And amazing pics of 2 stunning girls! Aaahh, the joys of sibling rivalry... :ROFLMAO: I'm just beginning to learn how that love/hate relationship can be a bit topsy turvy now that I'm watching Butchie with Vincent!
