Hi Everyone! I'm a little worried. A week and a half ago I rescued this 2 and a half month old sphynx kitten. She's gorgeous and super sweet. Everything seemed fine until Saturday we went to get her vaccines and she's been having diarrhea, she's been super sleepy and not active much like she was in the beginning and she's thrown up twice white foam almost. I took her back to the vet and they gave me Albon & Pet-Tinic and told me to give this to her twice a day to stimulate her appetite and vitamins. They also wanted to give her Kaopectate for her diarrhea. Is this all safe for her? Can I give her three medications twice in a day?

They also told me that the stress from just getting the vaccine could make her sick. I'm a really worried cause she's down in her weight. We have to put the wet food on our fingers to get her to eat and then she starts to eat the rest on her own.

Help!!

Sorry to hear your baby is not feeling well. Vaccinations can cause them to be a bit sluggish for a day or 2. If your baby has lost weight you need to keep a close eye. If you are concerned about your vet’s directions, get a second opinion especially since you mention your baby has lost weight. The supplement they suggested will not fight off what might just be an infection...no temperature?

@Janie rosell , checking in on your baby

I would ask if there is an alternative to Kaopectate - I read this info :

"Do not give Kaopaectate ® TO CATS IF THE FORMULATION CONTAINS BISMUTH SUBSALICYLATE

Kaolin/Pectin drugs no longer contain Kaolin. In some newer formulations, Bismuth subsalicylate (also known as Pepto-Bismol®) is used. Pepto-Bismol® is not considered safe for use in cats, so please check the drug label of new formulations of Kaopectate® before administering this drug to your cat."

DO NOT USE IN PETS WITH SEVERE DIARRHEA"

Sending healing and Positve vibes amd big hugs to you
Will be following closely for updates

For peace of mind a second opinion may be a good idea
You can call in advance and ask if they would like a poo sample for a fecal test
Amd or blood work

A lair full of healing vibes amd head smooches

Please keep us updated often

Has all stomach bugs ben ruled out? Giardia? What vaccines were given? It sounds as if you need a second opinion perhaps. Please keep us posted. :)
