My entire into the sphynx world was a bumpy start. I spent more than two months in contact with a breeder who seem selfless. She saw I was a college student looking an emotional support cat. All I have is anxiety but anyone who has gone to college knows stress here is unavoidable. She cut me a deal (700$), felt blessed. I stared preparing for my child the first day she agreed to the deal. I was supposed to drive out to Lakeland FL (3 hours out) to pick up Randall. She found out Randall as not your average sphynx two days (10/22). She assured me the deal was still being honored until the next day (10/23). She said Randall could no longer be mine and I was devastated. I got my mother involved hoping she was just trying to bully me. This when the lies started, she started saying she didn’t trust me, did trust him living in the dorm bla bla bla. She was aware of all this well before hand. After a lawsuit and lawyers are being talked about she claims Randall was dead. I don’t believe is for a second. On 10/24 my father (who before did really support me getting a cat) came across an ad for a baby for sale, across the country. My mother who works full time is willing to fly up to Maryland to pick him up. My family is a blessing. Hopefully I will be able to pick up a little boy this weekend. Nothing is fore sure but the new “breeder” seems like a genuine family looking for good homes for kitty’s that mean a lot to them. I feel more comfortable now getting (hopefully) this little nude dude. I still love Randall where ever he is I hope his new family is better than his original.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this! I believe I saw your post on IG, and all the photos of Randall.
So heartbreaking that you had to go through that experience, and I do truly hope that she was just lying about Randall dying :(
The best of luck with this new breeder.

What a horrible story, I'm hoping there will be some light at the end of the tunnel with your new baby. Best of luck!

What area are you located in?
Perhaps if you post that, some Lairians may be able to direct message you the name of some breeders.

So very sorry to hear both breeder turned out to be scams. Did you see the post of @GMPLAX23 ? Maybe she can give you the name of the breeder of her sphynx in a pm? Tha way you know you're dealing with good breeders.
All fingers and paws crossed you'll find a sphynx soon.

Pretty much all the ones offering sphynx kittens for unusually low prices will be scams, if you want an affordable sphynx ask breeders about retired breeding cats or look to adopt/rescue and adult cat, we have a subforum for that here also. Also keep in mind that these cats are very high maintenance, need constant special care and cleaning and medical costs can add up to a lot, they also don't like to be alone.
