I recently moved out of my parents house and i have a 10 month old sphynx. Since I have had her she hasn't been alone because someone has always been home. I now live alone and I am scared to bring her over because I work a lot and do overnights. Will she become depressed from being alone especially during my overnight shifts? I'm not sure how well sphynx kittens adjust. any ideas/advice?

@Elycia , Congrats on your new place :)
I am sure others with shift work will and one sphynx households will Chime in-
I know mine sleep at night -

As long as I wear them out with Dabird play etc during the day they could probably careless if I was home as long as they had their wake blanket at night -
I do leave on a radio or TV when I leave the house -
Perhaps interactive timer laser like toys by frolicat may help
- definitely toys without strings if unattended
Like really like the cat dancer toy - I put it a door knob - it's heavy gauge wire I even put a slotted ball attached to it -

I hear them batting at it in the day time too

Just got a pet stages ball tower toy at chewy - lol they were up at night playing with it round and round I heard it lol
There is a Bergan lighted ball catch chaser ring too good for night time !

As long as lots of loving , play , mind stimulating stuff and blanket throws , tv radio on , I think she is young would get used to the new schedule

I always worry when I leave my kitten at home, but honestly I'm pretty sure she just sleeps all day. I usually worry she gets lonely and will cry and bother the neighbours but today I had to run home about 15 minutes after leaving for work (forgot my phone!) and when I went back to the apt, she was just chilling on her cat tree and looked over at me like "Oh, you're here?"

I'm sure your cat will adjust! :) She's still so young that I think she will be fine.

Thanks so much! That makes me feel a lot better. I feel like such a bad mom leaving her but I'm sure she would just sleep the whole time anyways. I'm definitely going to take a trip to the pet store and pick up a whole bunch of toys for her

Anubis is an only cat and my kids and I are gone all day long. He seems fine like he's cool with it. He does love on me once I get home, and is usually waiting at the door for me. I'm sure you'll be fine once she adjusts to it.

For now, Goblin is an only cat. I'm a teacher so I work all day (sometimes quite late) and stay home with him on the weekends. I find that he's a very scheduled cat - he has times for waking up, eating, pooping, napping, and when it's time for everyone in the apartment to go to bed :) I find that as long as his daily "play time" an hour after I get home is taken care of no matter what day it is, he does pretty good. On the weekends I am at home all day, and my boyfriend is here some days during the week and he sleeps and cuddles unless someone starts playing with him- but unless it's 6:30 play time, he doesn't act like a crazy cat :)
