Hello all! I recently got 2 female 8 week old Sphynx kittens! They are sisters. One of them took to the littler box like a pro. The other is randomly urinating on the floor and once on the couch. They were fixed about a week ago and the incisions sites are healing appropriately. I asked the breeder what she thought it could be and she is not sure either. We use the exact same litter as well. She is painfully shy so I am wondering if this is anxiety related? She naps more than her sister also. She is slowly starting to come out of her shell. We have also put out an additional littler box. Any advice on this would be so helpful, thanks!

while I don't have much to offer in this instance what kind of litter box do you have? If she is shy perhaps giving her a covered litterbox will help?

Best of luck

It was initially covered so I uncovered it. She sniffs it but refuses to go inside the box at all. It’s very strange. Thank you for tour feedback!

Perhaps adding a second one will help? I have 2 for my girl and there are times she only uses the one and then other times she just uses the other...

Sometimes not only adding a second, but offering a different litter type in the second box can help.

One box for each cat plus an extra box scoop at the very least twice daily. So three boxes. And wash and soak box in dish liquid hot water at least once a week. @Sheldon13 has great idea with trying different litter types. Place boxes away from food in quiet location.

8 weeks old is very young to have left their mother. They are still learning so much at that age. I personally would confine to a small area with the litter box and get her back on track. Free run of the house might just be too much for her right now and it will help build up her confidence managing her smaller area and increasing it slowly. I would also put kitten attract litter on top of the existing litter.
