Howdy,

I just posted an intro giving a bit of detail about my two cats Lisa Lisa and Giorno! My live is moving towards big city living and at minimum, Giorno needs to be re-homed. He is a high octane cat that already has a hard time in my large one bedroom apartment in NC where I can take him outside easily and without worry.

He would do well in a larger space he can really run around in ideally with housemates that enjoy play time too. He is friendly with dogs (uncertain about other cats, but I was/am a licensed Vet Tech and he's never hissed at cats he passed by in the clinic.)

I love him and really really want him to be happy. He is as stressed as I am right now with a lot of yowling while on his cat wheel, looking at the front door, or sitting by the front door. He never was this way when I was in larger homes and initially got him, but since downsizing he's had a hard time.

Willing to bring him anywhere in the continental US as long as he's going to a good home.

If you're able to adopt his sister too I think that would be good for them given that they grew up together, but I don't know how bonded they actually are. They like each other, but especially since Giorno started having a hard time Lisa Lisa has given him a lot of space.

Hope to hear from someone soon!

@Antoine , welcome to the lair family. sorry for your heartfelt decision. Several of us have adopted from members including bonded pairs. I adopted a bonded pair from a member.

You are in the purrfect family for members to interview for a perfect fit forever home. are they spayed? neutered?

I have all adoptees and always try to help hearts align. Hugs n head smooches to precious Lisa Lisa and Giorno.

Tysm for the kind words. It's taken a while to get to actually posting them as up for adoption as they are absolutely incredible cats. I grew up with a cat and had been around them as a technician for years, but a Sphynx is something else. They sky rocketed to my absolute favorite breed as soon as I met them; really is no other cat than a Spynx imo.

Update: I admittedly have not tried Fluoxetine with Giorno and don't know if it would be helpful. He is interested in play and will settle down and snuggle; the trouble is he absolutely LOVES being outside and is so desperate to go out exploring.

They are such good travelers having been to and from the clinic almost daily since I got them and when I drove from Maine to North Carolina they settled in the crate immediately, did their business when we stopped and I took the litter box out. Just perfect guys really.

Hey @Antoine, we’re a skip hop away down in South Carolina! We have a 501(c) ( 3) rescue with 2 Sphynx in rescue, and I have a personal Sphynx baby named Veda! We typically deal in medical rescue but I also offer specialty for breeds like Sphynx & Lykoi because of the specialized care they require.

Giorno might be a fab fit with our girl Veda who has a big personality and enjoys her 3am zoomies. Lisa Lisa would also be more than welcome to join the crew if you were looking for placement for both still.

Happy to discuss whatever your thoughts & preferences are. We have an excellent vet at Flowertown in Summerville, SC who is familiar with Sphynx care and their cardio health. Veda our girl actually has a murmur we’re monitoring.

You can reach me here or by email!

Hi. My name is Divinity. I am an experienced sphynx owner/cat professional. I've had 5 sphynx. I was a vet tech for many years. And, I owned 3 feline-exclusive resorts and spas in Los Angeles. I am probably interested in taking both. I'm looking for a really outgoing cat. We have a lot of guests, and I want a cat that comes out and interacts with new people. If he wants to be outside, our house has an enclosed patio. Also, I live in The Villages. Our community has live music in 5 squares 365 days/yr. Two of my cats loved to go out with me. I'd ask if they wanted to "go out" and they would hop in their go bags waiting for me to put their harnesses on. I would really love it if he would like to "go out" too I love that he enjoys a wheel. I miss the sound of them randomly rolling in the background. BTW, our house is about 2,000 square feet.

I don't use this site much, so if you would call or text me at 310-600-4867 I would appreciate it. Hope to talk to you soon!!

Have you had a chance to look over the mound of interest you've undoubtedly received and select a prospective new home? I just want to let you know I am still interested. I hope you received my original application. I think I am a really good fit.

Hi! I came across your post and wanted to reach out about Lisa Lisa (and honestly Giorno too, if keeping them together ended up being best for them). I’m in North Carolina near Sanford, so not too far, and I’ve been seriously interested in adopting a Sphynx for a long time, but more importantly, I really care about giving an animal the right environment and not just “having” the breed.

Your post stood out to me because it’s obvious how much you love them and how thoughtfully you’re trying to do what’s best for Giorno. A lot of people wouldn’t make such a difficult decision for the sake of their cat’s quality of life.

I live in a quieter area with more space than a city apartment, and I’m the kind of person who genuinely enjoys interactive, high-needs pets. I’d be happy to keep you updated, send photos, and stay in contact if that would help you feel comfortable. I also understand Sphynx care isn’t low-maintenance between skin care, temperature sensitivity, diet, attention needs, etc.

Even if you’re getting a lot of messages, I’d really love to be considered. Your cats sound incredibly special, and I’d want this to feel like a safe, loving transition for everyone involved.

UPDATE

Giorno has been whisked away to a lovely home with @Crayne! They have a 2yr old MN Bambino with a lot of energy to match Giorno and so far it seems like a good fit!

Lisa Lisa is going to stay with me, as I think she's much more bonded to me (Or maybe me to her) and is handling her brother's departure with grace.

I am so grateful for all the responses and messages of folks willing to assist in what was a truly stressful time for Giorno and myself.

Much love <3

-Antoine
