Hey every 1 I know litter was discussed & about tracking it around. I need advice because I use the crystal litter because I'm scared to use stuff with dust because of her little lungs & also I want clumping but if she eats it it will clump in her belly! I want to switch litters because I have to empty her litter every 2 day & the pee just sits @ the bottom of the box the litter doesn't absorb it. Any suggestions on safe litter????

I do not use clumping litter because my cats try to eat the litter and it can clump inside them.
My vets said it not to use it.
I use Yesterdays News but they do play with it.

We use regular clumping litter but ours never have tried to eat it so have had no problems.
There is always the automatic ones that some of the members here have, they all seem to love it. Or there is the potty training on the real potty, but I think that takes lots of patience (that I know I do not have) Good luck!

I use clumping litter, too. Just like ilovemysphynx, none of mine have ever tried to eat it. I try to look for litters that are low dust. Dr. Elsey's makes a good one, 99% dust free.

Well, I'm clueless about all things kitty related (first time cat owner here) so when it came time to purchase kitty litter I just grabbed a bag of the Arm & Hammer Essentials All Natural Clumping Litter. Now I've been contemplating switching because I'm curious how the others perform but this stuff has worked so well it makes no sense to switch. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right? LOL. My vet told me she hates the scent but I think it's a light and natural scent. I'm very sensitive to perfumes or heavy scents and this stuff doesn't bother me at all and it clumps very well. I'm sticking with Arm & Hammer Essentials. Again, I'd love to try the crystals and the other stuff (just out of curiosity) but why risk it. My monster and I are happy with what we have.

hi i had the crystals because they are non clumping & have no scent but than i read that in a litter 3 kittens died because they ate the litter & the litter is so absorbent that it dehydrated them!!!! so i switched maggie to pine......i love it & i feel better about it as far as health wise. u said u have clumping i herd that is bad because if they happen to eat it it might clump up in their tummy! also try to get dust free for their little lungs. i hope this helps

Hi Maggies mommy,

My kitten doesn't eat the litter, which is just 100% corn fibers (last I read) so I doubt it'd harm him anyway. Again, he loves to use it and I love that it's all natural and easy to use.
