Olive's belly looks really good today, so I have to think the Black Passion is helping. She's really soft where the spots are, and noticeably less greasy! My dad said that is could be heat rash or "hot spots". It has been sooo hot the past few months, and she loves to sleep underneath the blankets at night. I didn't have a chance to call the vet today, hopefully tomorrow will be less hectic.

Just an update: We went to the vet Saturday and told him whats going on. He dismissed the pigmentosa rather quickly and gave us some medicated shampoo. She developed a big bump right on the outside on her ear, and he said that maybe the bacteria from ear wax/oils may have caused a staph infection or something of the sorts. Its Universal brand, its anti-fungal/bacterial and gave Olive a anti-biotic shot. We gave her a bath yesterday and the shampoo seemed to "dry up" the bumps. They were considerably smaller. The vet also said we could try the mousse as a spot treatment, as well as the medicated shampoo. Not for every bath, as it really stripped her skin of oils. I put some of the Black Passion oil on her today because it really helped with the scabby feeling.

Thanks for all of your support guys <3

Have you thought about taking to a skin specialist? It can be pricey and for most people a drive but it is well worth the cost for the expertise.

I'm really glad the black passion is helping you out. A d you are on thenisewith medicated shampoos, the medication is suspended in an alcohol in the soap and is very drying. You can put the oil on or use the mask after the medication shampoo to help rebalance her skin.

If the medicated shampoo doesn't keep the bumps under control, I will totally consider a skin specialist. Last night we noticed some new red bumps, tried the mousse and it worked really well. The mousse reduced the swelling on the bumps considerably. So that makes me think it is an allergic reaction, either to her own oily skin or something else. I'm going to try switching laundry detergents this week, just to rule that out.

Yeah @NinaGato I put the oil on her yesterday to help her skin, because it did feel stripped. This morning her head was really greasy so I wiped that with a wipe.

Hi guys! An update on Olive! We've been using the medicated shampoo and while it does seem to "dry out" the spots, they don't go away. We brought her to a place that does dermatology and that vet said the spots are hives. So we got blood work for an allergy test, and next week we will know. Thank you so much for your support! I can't wait to be relieved of the skin stress lol

@CamedSoup , hugs n positive vibes for the blood work results. we are following for updates. many of us use hylyt shampoo, soap free, hypoallergenic, easy rinse. Duoxo shampoo has been used by many here too.

hugs and head smooches. does Olive wear clothing? , they can get heat rash. some scented litters can cause skin issues too. hopeful you get to the bottom of this and get some relief from skin stress.

Allergy Update!!! So Olive is allergic to a lot of things apparently. Allergies include; 10 types of grass/weeds/trees, penicillin, house dust, chicken, turkey, milk, soybean, and yeast. We will be changing foods (again lol) to one of the ones the vet recommended. They gave us this list of safe food brands and kinds to eat, which is really great. Also we'll try half a children's claritin for the air borne stuff after the food switch. I have a really bad dust allergy, so I'm already on top of that.

@Yoda mom I put sweaters on Olive only when its cold in the morning. They're mostly wrapped up in blankets, all the time. We have to put a thunder shirt on her sometimes because she gets really wild at night We have unscented litter. The black passion shampoo is really nice. Neither of them seem to have a reaction to that, their skin feels so nice after using it!

Thanks again for the support! <3 <3
