Ways to help detect fraud & scammers when adopting/buying a cat

sharing this one because I adopted a wonderful 2 yr old retiree from a reputable breeder . I contacted a reputable breeder and inquired about upcoming retirees . I adopted my Claire Bare retiree at age 2 (now 13 1/2 yrs old) and as cuddly as if I got her as a kitten. HCM scanned, spayed, lots of goodies and still in touch to this day with her first mum breeder.
