Looking to adopt in Chicago/Midwest

Hi all,

I have been hoping to adopt and researching about the sphynx breed for some time now, and feel ready to take the next step! I would really love to go through a rescue or someone needing to rehome, and wanted to put out some feelers in this community.
I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and feel well equipped to take in a senior or special needs cat as well. I have no preferences for age or sex. I am also open to a bonded pair.

I do have two dogs, but they are very comfortable with and respectful of cats. They have both lived with cats previously with very positive experiences!

I am located in Chicago but willing to travel throughout the Midwest and pick up.

Looking forward to adding a new member to my family in the (hopefully near) future!

be sure to read the fraud tips thread. very helpful when I was looking at ads outside sphynxlair. all paws crossed the sphynx stars align.

How to Detect fraud sphynx cat adoption ads

What are some blatant and obvious signs of fraud or scams have you read about or stumble upon? Have any tips to avoid fishy transactions and deals. I would love to know some pointers, feel free to share.
