Looking to rescue a sphynx (or any hairless breed) in Long Island, NY.

Hello. I'm looking to adopt a Sphynx or any hairless cat breed. I've had a Sphynx (and other hairless animals) before and would love to welcome another one into my family. I live alone and am home most of the day so they'd get lots of attention and will rarely ever be alone and never for long. I own a large open floor one bedroom; it's nice and quiet with large windows to bask in and look out of. Am experienced caring for animals at home and professionally. Might be open to special needs depending on severity. Prefer a lap cat who's good with other animals, kids and seniors, preferably kitten/young ( 4yo-, very sorry). Would like to see them in person, please. Willing to travel. Vet references available on request.

I have adopted 4 over the years, two a bonded pair from a member. I adopted a young retiree from a reputable breeder. just got on wait list which was fortunate was purrfect timing. one sphynx from a near scam off craigslist. (lots of scammers out in the cyber world. they ofen copy paste photos etc from others and sell as their own.)

How to Detect fraud sphynx cat adoption ads​

What are some blatant and obvious signs of fraud or scams have you read about or stumble upon? Have any tips to avoid fishy transactions and deals. I would love to know some pointers, feel free to share.

All my animals have been rescues too. Recently lost my dog and don't think I'll ever be able to have one again but I've been needing open my heart to someone again and miss having a Sphynx so I'm desperately searching for one in need. Scammers are awful taking advantage of someone like that. First day I posted on here one messaged me. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw one last Sunday at Sean Casey Animal Shelter in Brooklyn, NY. He/she hadn’t seen the vet yet, so wasn’t ready to be adopted but should be at this point. Please call, the poor thing looked a bit lonely.
