Looks like my fear is coming true I need help !!

hello everyone !
You all know I am a moaning Minnie by now over my two my two little rays of sunshine lol

Anyone who knows me also knows I’ve been really eager to get another little naked bubba , but I kept asking how will Cleo feel will she feel pushed out !
Would she accept a new member to the family ( it’s like a new baby coming home I know I’m one of 5 and the eldest the other 4 boys )

Since Mr Bagins as come home Cleo as kind of ignored me like she is angry with me ! When I put my hand out to her she backs away from me , if I manage to make contact by stroking her as she walks away she carries on walking it’s like I don’t exist any more , yet she still treats mike the same , when he gets into bed she still goes and sleeps by his head , first few nights she actually saw off Mr Bagins if he went close to mike ,
But then she was ok with Mr Bagins only seeing him off a few times , she played a little too rough and I had to say “ no Cleo plays nice that’s naughty “ in a firm voice but I have never had cause to be firm with Cleo before Mr Bagins came to the family .
Now she shares her bed shares her daddy even shares food ( well she steals Mr Bagins when she can )

But when it comes to me she just acts like I don’t even resist like I’m not even in the room ! ( I’m actually crying writing this I’m so stupid !!! )
I swear had I known she would act like this I’d have thought twice , I made a point of not making too much fuss over him , I pet him more when he goes under covers so she can’t see ,
I remember coming from a big family I just loved the new babies coming home was like I had real life dolls and from being 5 when the first of my four brothers were born I could change a nappy as good as any adult
BUT !! I remember when my second brother was born oh dear me what a time we had with Carl the eldest of the Boys , he really did not like Paul at all , I won’t go into his antics but my mum was at her whits end ah ha ha
But Cleo isn’t acting like Carl and pushing Mr Bagins away or being mean to him .. it’s me she doesn’t like any more like how dare you !! How very dare you bring that boy into our home .. but she loves him ???
One totally confused momma ! I need my girl back to how she was she would suckle on my hand for over an hour at a time now nothing please help

I think over time things should go back as they were. A new naked friend could change things slightly but in most cases they return to normal - give it some more time and try your best to make everyone happy.

I agree... Totally understand your feelings. But give it a bit more time! Might take a few more weeks. I don't think Cleo is intentionally snubbing you, it's just a new thing in her world she has to adjust too. Over time, I bet she'll actually like having Bagins AND you around and she'll be even happier than she was before.

One thing off the top of my head I can think of, does your husband pet Bagins as much as you? Even if she can't see it, it might not be a visual thing at all but a scent thing. Maybe try washing hands and what not more for a little bit to see if that changes anything? (I don't know if that will help at all. Was just thought.)

Either way though, what I've read from others experiences, they always come around after some time!

Mine were "persnickety " at first too.
I cross scented hand towels -
You can put ome of the cross scemted towels from Mr Bagins on your lap and put Cleos Dreamies on it
Lots of Positve reinforcement and she is food driven so it should help

i found once the newness settles the routine returns only you will have two snuggles at once!
I can barely move my legs with them hogging my lap and bed!

Hi there my hubby is totally 110% Cleo loyal he would never let Cleo see him stroke Mr Bagins ,
Mr Bagins comes to us for a cuddle you can’t just pick him up he doesn’t like it . Mr Bagins is at the minuet bouncing around the room so funny this little fella I just don’t want to loose what I have with Cleo xxx❤️❤️❤️

I think she’s probably just learning to accept the new dynamic and new smell. If you are smelling more like him she probably is just steering clear. Give her a little more time, she will more than likely return to her old self once she is used to her new friend

Hi there I did read up about bringing a new baby into the house now Mr Bagins doesn’t like to be picked up just yet so I leave him to come to me ,normally sitting on my shoulder ah ha try and try and try it will all work out fine I am sure

When we brought Yaddle home, our 2 yr old Maine Coon was SO mad at my husband, but still was normal around me. She hissed at him, wouldn't let him hold her, you name it. However, she has come around and is somewhat back to normal. I think it just takes time!

Hi there in my own defence I didn’t go to pick him up my two daughters went , so Cleo should be mad at them not me lol I played the innocent party lol
They actually do get along ok , each day a little better , but Cleo can be a bit rough with him ( shushhhh but Mr Bagins is a bit of a wimp ) everything should work out fine it as done for others
Our Cleo is a conterarie Mary lol sending massive hugs
