my Luna has been check over by the vet severam times. Put on a few courses of antibiotics fir three ear infections in one year and we have also tried antivirals.
Her Blood panel came back normal and shes negative for Fiv and coronavirus, etc.
i was convinced she had an nasopharangeal polyp but vet put her to sleep and said he didnt see anything.
What could her reoccuring ear infections, rotten breath, and loud breathing. Be from??
I have video of her sounds but it says one minute is too big

@Anita , checking in on Luna
Any updates?
Positve vibes continued
No updates, although today she seems a little better for some reason?
She’s just a little over a year old, he mouth and teeth are healthy, I don’t flush her ears. I clean them and try to make sure I don’t get water in them when she gets a bath. The vet has given me a ear wash/ flush when she had an ear infection so I use that in the pads before cleaning her ears, I don’t put any in her ear.
She doesn’t have a runny nose or sneeze- no upper respiratory issues at all.
I need to find a vet for a second opinion!

@Anita , can you upload the video to your ir then copy paste the url here for us to see amd chime in?

You said she seems better - that's a Positve !
Could it be seasonal allergies?
Candles ? Plug in air fresheners?

Sometimes Sphynx natural ear gunk can appear to be infections too it's just they have no ear hair so it appears different amd so,e May beleive infected

Were her ears diagnosed visually or by testing
Just curious

Good she has no sneezing etc

Heres my two cents...

One of my girls came with a bad breath - turned out to be oral granuloma (looks like raw beef burger). Hers was tough to find - they are usually near the gums, hers was under the tongue.

We also had an oral mouth wash, which is anti bacterial, for our boy - he had a bad breath with no signs of anything.
5 days of this and he was ok.

Ears - Luna had multiple infections. In the end, we used Otidine ear cleaner, and she never had it since - that was over a year ago.

As for the loud breathing - have her pipelines been checked? If there is an ulcer there, it will also affect the breathe and the loud breathing.

Have you tried to rule out allergies? 1/4 of Loratidine antihistamine, every 24 hours. Its harmless to them. If this improves her condition...then you know its allergy based.

UPDATE!!!!
took her to a specialty vet- it was a polyp the size of a ping pong ball. The other vet who did an oral exam under sedation and “checked” her for polyps apparently missed it!! I even suggested it to him and I bet he never took a hook to her soft pallet and looked!!!
Anyway, she is quiet as a mouse and can finally breathe normally!!!!!’ It cost a small fortune, could have bought 2 new kittens but now she’s comfortable and we have answers!!

@Anita , omg
Thank goodness you took her to a specialist !
I bet she feels a thousand times better with that huge polyp removed! Yikes!
Good reminder too for all of us a specialist visit often makes a world of difference !

Big hug to you amd head smooches sent

My goodness, what trials and tribulations you endured. But I'm so glad it is sorted. Hugs and fast healing for Luna.

Glad to hear Luna is better! Maybe it's time to look for a new vet. I would definitely confront him about missing that "tiny" polyp. (He should at least remove that charge from your bill.)

Keep looking up!
