Well hello everyone it is about time I introduced myself and the babies.
My name is Allison and I am the primary skin person of Luna and secondary of Pierre (my daughter is "official" owner
) and we live in Sydney, Australia.
So how did I end up with Sphynxes? Well my man and I have been together for over 8 years. He is a cat person and I was a dog person. He always seemed a little sad that we didn't have a cat, and he would make mocking comments about how awful dogs are (we have two tiny Italian Greyhounds that are FAR from awful... but cat people have to keep up that facade yes?).
I decided to get him a cat... but not any cat, because in Australia much of our gorgeous wildlife still comes into our cities and cats are responsible for the death and destruction of many rare and endangered animals. In short, I was looking for the best indoor cat possible... maybe with some dog-like attributes.
I had seen Sphynxes on TV on pet shows and, of course, Austen Powers and Friends but not in real life. I studied Sphynxes online for a year, buying books and talking to breeders and made the decision that this would be what I would buy for my partner and I.
The next part of the story was heartbreaking because we placed a deposit on a gorgeous blue eyed tabby female kitten who died of a respiratory infection before we got her. My man was heart broken after being so excited about the baby and seeing her photos etc. We waited almost a year before trying again along came Luna.
Pierre has a back story too but that's for another day.
Luna has a Twitter account at SphynxCatLuna
And our blog is Sphynx Cat Blog
Looking forward to meeting you all
