There was a sphynx cat that was just listed on Dreampower, our local hometown Colorado Springs no-kill animal rescue group. I called about him and the group volunteer told me that it was the first time EVER they had a sphynx in their rescue. They said he was given up by some people who were expecting a baby (which makes me mad ....I would never give up my pets for a kid). Unfortunately, he was already adopted out; otherwise I would have seriously considered adopting him. There are too many people out there who buy sphynx cats on a whim because they think they're cute or exotic, then decide they are too much work for them. I think this is a sign of the times, that we WILL be seeing more and more sphynx cats in rescues, which is a damn shame.
