Maybe another baby???

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately and I think I'd like to get another Sphynx kitten. I'm just not sure how Chadwick is going to handle it.
Chadwick is very much a Mama's boy and has to have my attention 100% of the time or he'll complain very loudly. I'm afraid that he may be jealous of a new little one in the house.
What do you all think?

:Laugh:I was worried when we got our 3 new ones that Harley would be very upset and not like them. I got lucky though mine took to each other quickly and they love their new playmates, I would talk to Brook though she has alot of experince with adding sphynx to a house hold and tricks to help them get along, I know her advice helped me alot.

They love someone to play with! I am so glad we got Newman a few months ago! At first they play/ act mean towards each other to establish the pecking order but then they became in separable!

How far apart in age are Kramer and Newman? Chadwick is 18 months old and I'm debating getting a new one now or for my birthday in March.

They are about 6 months apart. I don't think age will be a problem... They are so playful... They love the company. They are pretty much inseparable now!

I think its a great idea! Sphynxes love to have playmates. Like Kerrie said, they may scrap a little bit in the beginning but once they establish their roles, no doubt they will be the best of friends. I always say, the only thing better than a sphynx, is 2 sphynxes! (or 3 or 4)

I had the same concern when I just had my boy Walter. He was (and still is) very much a Mama's boy. Now that he's got friends in the house to play with, I take a lot of comfort knowing that he isn't at home by himself being bored while I'm at work and it's so cute to see them all snuggling together. He is a lot happier and gets a lot more exercise now that he has friends to share his life with.

I agree. Pbinky seems so much happier now that we have The Skinner. It's so much fun watching them play and when they are snuggling.... oh they are so sweet. My boys play fight a lot and sometimes it gets nasty but they know each others boundaries. Pbinky still hisses at Skinner when Skinner is being a jerk (ie relentlessly biting Pbinky's tail and legs) but they work out their issues. I was a bit concerned in the beginning when Skinner was so tiny compared to Pbinky. I was sure Pbinky would kill Skinner. But they grow really quickly so no need to worry too much.
I vote Chadwick gets a brother!

I would get another sphynx.
Cleo was so mean to Wrinkles when I got her in Sept.
She would hiss and growl from across the room and she tried to smack her.
Now they play and are ok.
Everyone of my other cats were fine.
Cleo is ok with Wrinkles now .
I would go for a girl.
Cleo is 1.2 years old and Wrinkles is 3.5 months old.

Not to hijack the thread, but along the same topic...
I would love another one, but am not sure i can devote attention to two sphynxs. My guess it's like choosing to have another child... sure, there will be a playmate, but there's fear about attending to both.

I live alone, so when I'm gone Haji's alone.

Torn between getting another cat for myself vs. another cat for Haji.

I don't think I should get another cat just for Haji's sake. Sure I would love another one, as I bet he would, but we both seem perfectly happy as it is. Then again, how do I know he's happy? He doesn't seem lonely.

It's the same thing with me. It took me over a year to decide that I could handle another one. I'm still on the fence about it, but I'll figure it out. After all, it took me over a year of research before I got my Chadwick!

we added a rescue to our house when my boy was 2 years old and he was very jealous. need to keep them separated at first and introduce slowly.

You know it only took me about a year and a half and had decided to get another. Danser was less clingy once her and Loki were friends. Now they are like an old married couple. I would recommend 2 or more.
