So, yesterday I picked up this little pickle from a stray and feral cat rescue where he'd been left. The only history we have is that he's 2 years old and we're his 4th home. He didn't respond to the name he came with (Loki), so we've named him Anubis. He's using the litter tray like a champ, loves his food and is even purring for us. He's a bit sensitive around his tail (which is hairy, along with his ears and paws) because it's partially amputated. He could do with losing a bit of weight - he's a bit of a chonk at 5kg! But we'll get that under control once he's been fully integrated into the fold. He's got a bit of a wheeze and gummy eyes but that could be down to his change of environment. Will get him registered with the vet on Monday.

@Beckinboots I have been hoping you would share with us how things are going so far. How are the eyes doing etc?

They're still a bit gummy and his skin is so oily. Can't do anything about it until he's settled down though. He's got a real sassy attitude. Absolutely hilarious the way he walks round the house squawking his displeasure.

LOL…how fun for you guys to see him trying to fit in and yet protest. No doubt a new baby changes the dynamics a bit, or at least for awhile until he settles in fully. Certainly sounds like is off to a great start.

We're still shutting him in his room at night because we can't supervise when we're asleep but this morning I let him out after they'd all had breakfast and they're just milling around, walking past each other with no hissing or negative interactions. Fingers crossed for continued positive interactions.

We're doing great. Anubis has completely assimilated into the clan. He's unconcerned around the dogs and is getting on well with the cats. However, he's also a determined little thug. Really wants to go outside and has escaped a couple of times. All of the windows are now on the latch because he's strong enough to open them if they're not secure and he's intentionally knocked a candle off the windowsill leaving broken glass everywhere. But despite this we're absolutely in love with him.
@Beckinboots , checking in for updates. hugs n head smooches

@Beckinboots , awh adorable update!
wow, Anubis is a little bugger escape artist! strong boy! my bengal used to open the anderson french door curved handle jumping up on it and hanging on it till it opened!
train my crew here to a meet n greet spot like a dog bcz lighting fast near doors.
oh my,, Omar used to push things off shelves etc when he wanted something..lol food. and then sit there with the look, "did I get your attention now" lol.
be careful with the glass slivers. I use a flashlight on the floor to make sure I got all the slivers.

hugs n head smooches... sooo happy the clan is in harmony! keep the adorable pics coming! hugs n head smooches
