Kramer is a great conversationalist... You talk to him he responds almost everytime. It drives me nuts Newman doesn't make a peep, he's only meowed a few times & when he does he sounds like a girl bird! LOL  although he is a purr machine, I cut his nails he purrs, I take his temperature he purrs. Kram's talked from day one, has anyones kitty been quiet at first then gotten more vocal?

Ours where both pretty quiet at first, now Leo is pretty vocal and Athena only if she wants something or is mad at the puppy. I did notice in the 2 kittens that the male is very vocal and the girl quiet! We put them in the spare room to sleep and he sits at the door meowing up A storm. Nothing much from her?
I am sure Newman will start talking he is probably just getting used to everything!

I can't say how any of mine were as kittens - as you know I got them all as adults - but when I adopted Walter, the owner told me he was very quiet and hardly ever meowed. Either she needs to have her hearing checked or he suddenly decided he had a lot to say to me, because now he talks NON-STOP! Like Kramer, I can have full conversations with him.

Nelson and Mandy were both very quiet for the first couple of weeks when I brought them home and they are both talking a lot more now. Helen is very quiet, she only makes a chirping sound every once in a while. Oh, and my first sphynx, Harold, was so quiet that on the very rare occassion that he would meow (maybe 3 or 4 times the entire time I had him) it was an event! He had the sweetest meow ever!!

Maybe Newman is still being a little bit shy. I bet he'll be influenced by Kramer and start talking more as he gets older.

:LOL:Harley was quite as a church mouse untill Sambo decided to introduce him to the world of getting my way. Sambo talks nonstop till you listen to him and do has he wants. Only then will he quite down....Now Harley is getting this habbit, though not as bad.. He only talks when he wants my attention badly or its bedtime, otherwise he also purrs non stop, everytime you touch him....

hey I just noticed their names! Did you get them from April in Cocoa? That's where xerxes is from and I remember her sending out an email looking for homes to two sphynx rescues named Nelson and Mandy!

Hi Streakin,
Yes! They are from April - the SPCA contacted her when they got them, she took them from the SPCA and then I adopted them from her...small world, huh?
