The new "lingo" here on Sphynxlair is as follows:
Messages are: Threads (a message is an answer, comment or suggestion to a thread or discussion.)
Discussions are: Posts (a discussion is a NEW post started like a question, concern or just general chat.)
Conversations (PC's) are: Private Messages (Conversations are private messages no one else can see but you and the receiver of the message.)
At the top of the forum next to your username you have Inbox and Alerts. Inbox is your "conversations" or PM's now called Private Conversation - PC's.
Then you have Alerts. Alerts are threads or posts that someone quoted you in, someone replied to your post or if someone liked your post or thread.
You also have an awesome feature next the the new posts called "recent activity." It's really cool - check it out yourself! http://www.sphynxlair.com/community/recent-activity/
