Hi! I have 13 week old tortie sphynx, during the day time she’s a fun sleepy girl but at night she gets active, I don’t mind zoomies, but the aggression that comes with it? I can do with out. She bites and scratches me unprovoked (it’s 3am I’m sleeping) she’ll run in my room JUST to bite me then leave, the first time it was funny. But now it’s beginning to become a little annoying.

@MomofNudist , welcome to the lair family. what is your babies name? we are here for you. you are not alone, and members will surely chime in tips.
they are super smart. I trained my sphynx like dogs , praise n treats.
wearing them out before bedtime with play like a dabird pole toy ( *put away in a closet and only used supervised at bedtime play bcz some will chew on the string). I like the one piece dabird pole toy. it is the special toy for bedtime.

I trained mine to "sleepy sleep time". I got a fleece throw blanket to put on the bed. I tapped on the blanket with a command "sleepy sleep time" or whatever you chose, and put two small dry treats on the blanket and tucked them in. they quickly learned, I treated and spread out the treats (kept a sealed jar on nightstand). now no treats are needed.
Some play time, and "sleepy sleep time command. once in a while one will get the zoomies, a stern "ah" and tap on blanket holding it up "sleepy sleep" command and then they come to get tucked in for the night.

there are others that share the tortie tude and will surely chime in.

my toby was a rough one, he would latch onto my arm! I would give a stern ah and gently scruff his neck, then redirected him to a kicker toy like a catnip long fabric toy or a dog firehouse material toy. I just made sure to give a little time in between so the kicker toy was not a reward for unwanted behavior.

so glad you joined us! we are here for you! hugs n head smooches

Congrats on your new kitty! Mine likes to bite my hand and I don't know if she wants to play because I played with her or if she thinks I'm a cat or wants attention because I give her tons of attention (but it's usually 10 minutes of annoyance until she stops trying and then she is the best cuddly kitty lol). One reason I didn't want a female cat was my sister long ago brought home a female kitten that attacked us at night and I would sleep with my arms and feet tightly tucked under the covers lol. I don't know if it's a female cat thing but that's what I associated it with because all my male cats were so cuddly and never bit. I try diverting her to a toy, saying no (and she knows no for most everything else except my hand), putting her down away from me when she starts, and as yodamom said scruffing her neck like a mom would, but nothing works 100 percent all the time and I have to use combination technique and she will stop. It's kinda hard because yours is in the middle of the night but maybe she will grow out of it? Mine will now go days of not biting me so I think I have made progress lol. You can try clapping, sometimes that works for me. Oh, and at first I thought it was because she was teething but her adult teeth are all in so I don't think it's that unless they continue to teethe?

Thank you! Her name is Geronimoe, (because she’s a daredevil that jumps off every thing). I think it’s because she sleeps all day. I work from home but I can’t get up and play with her to keep her up as often. I already tuck her in, but she’ll get up and start her zoomies.

Put clothes on her at night. For some reason, it calms them down. I think that’s a kitten thing. Mine was like that when we first got her. I bought a 4 leg pet pajama outfit to put on her. She acted like she couldn’t walk. You can also try to keep her active during the day. Don’t let her sleep all day, so she’s tired at night.

@Yoda mom I am actually shocked with our kitten. When she goes to bed that is it. She gets up when I get up. If hubby goes down to feed them (maybe once a week) she doesn’t get up with the boys. She stays until I get up. It blows my mind! I think because I am retired my playing with her many times a day helps to poop her out. Now the boys were/are different. I found playing with them before bedtime helps, but they have their routine/demands and it is about food.

Find a toy or a laser pointer and wear her out, mine was like that and it helped (Mine loved a dry corn husk and a shoelace on a stick over any store bought cat toy).
If not you can try a Feliway diffuser. Like a child they will grow out of it.
