So Mos lovely vet Joe phoned this morning with the results of his Profiles and FBC. We are still waiting for the more specialist blood results that had to be sent off - to come back which will tell us more details.

The results show that Mo has a raised white cell count. From my own job I know this can indicate infection or some cases of disease.

I work as a nurse on an Oncology and Haematology unit so I understand a lot about blood results and what they can mean. This is why I'm trying not to worry too much and get carried away, because I know it could be something very minor too. Because of my job I can't help but automaticaly leap to cancer and blood diseases but I NEED TO CALM DOWN!!! I know I'm jumping to conclusions big style, but I can't help it.

The vet says not to panic and to wait for the next lot of results. Mo could be just fine. He may of just had a bug! And I'm flying off the handle. Obviously there are sooooo many other things that it could be besides something serious.

Sending you soothing vibes to calm your overactive thoughts. Try not to focus on what might be until you get more information. As you just said an elevated white count is not an unusual finding. Everything is going to be alright. Take it as it comes. Don't beat your self up with worry.

That's the problem with being a health care worker, we know too much about what the different tests mean and get ourselves in a tizzy real easily. Sending calming thoughts your way and hope it turns out to be something very minor.

It's hard not to worry and borrow trouble, but try to keep calm until you know for sure if something is seriously wrong. Am praying that it's not.
Hugs,
Susi and the gang

Worrying or stressing out won't do you any good for the moment. Just relax, and take what comes your way one step at a time. Hopefully it's something minor, so sending you and Mos my best thought and wishes!

Sending positive thoughts and vibes for you and Mo. I hope it turns out to be something small and manageable or just a lil bug. How much longer do you have to wait for the other results? *HUGS*

Do not panic.
Look at my Oreo.
Her counts were very bad before the surgery and now they are normal.
Is he on antibiotics?

Gummi had a URI, I was convinced she was dying and was forming a prayer chain for her! Thank goodness for Susi and Shannon for keeping me sane! We just love these little stinkbugs so darn much, it's hard not to worry. Just wait till your human baby arrives, lol. you will stress over the color of his poop, I kid you not!

We are here for you and Mo!

He isn't on antibiotics at the moment. He has been on them a few times in the past. I guess we wait and see what the other results are and take him back then. The vet mentioned a biopsy, but that would involve a GA and opening him up. I'm not keen.

Will be thinking of the little guy. Hoping its an infection or something simple that the antiobiotics will cure.

How long has it been going on?

Mos had problems on and off for the past year with diarrhoea and had various different tests which never showed anything serious. But it's only over the past 2 weeks he has started vomiting which he never did before. Thats why we became a little concerned for him. However he's been pretty good for the last 5days really. So hopefully just a bug.
