My kitty has diarrhea

When I got him over a month ago, everything was fine. I kept him on the same royal canin kitten dry food. Then out of nowhere 2 weeks ago he got the squirts. After a day, I got worried and took him to the vet, tests galore...all negative. I was told to give him a prescription liquid twice a day (I think it's for worms, etc.. just in case) and ge got better. That lasted two days, the squirts are back, I ordered royal canin kitten gastro but the won't ship until I upload a vet auth (which I can't get till Tuesday anyway). I just want some advice on what to do. Anyone have any ideas? I want my little guy to be happy, not poopy

do you know what tests they did? share the name of liquid med he was prescribed?

some vets will treat for giardia even if possible a false negative. did they do a PCR test?
stool sample check to rule out giardia, crypto, tritrichomonas?

is he getting any new treats?
ugh, I know the wait for getting the rx authorizing in especially over a weekend.

Thank you for replying. His name is Archibald Piddlepuss. I did in fact take a big pile of ziplock poop with me to test, he had already had a pcr prior to me picking him up in June, but had him tested again anyway.
No new treats, I try to not give him any treats unless he was a good boy for a bath, or just general grooming (which is always, always a good boy). But I have not even made it through the batch of fancy feast tiny square treats the breeder gave me. The only time he has deviated from his diet was two days before the first bout of squirts, he got into my moms cats food (Friskies...) while we were at her house. He ate a decent amount before I noticed and pulled it away from him.

I’d start looking at feeding limited ingredient food to rule out things that do not settle well in the tummy. You can google limited ingredient cat foods. What is the main protein in the food you are giving them right now?

He eats royal canin kitten. I was doing some research online and a lot of reviews said it worked for them...so I ordered Lucy pet for life.

I have a pothos that he never goes near and he loves to beat up and ruin a giant fake bamboo....but not really. He doesn't really chew anything that isn't human or cotton. He Suckles on my arm all the time, my husband thought maybe it could be skincare stuff....but I don't really put anything on myself. We have thought of all possible reasons he would be fine for a month and then lava butt...nothing we come up with makes sense other than food. I gave him pumpkin last night and he HAPPILY ate it....he seems a lot better right now.

@Catzzzmeow @Yoda mom update: vet is very sure he has dry form FIP...I am very upset. She said I should contact a Facebook group where I can get an immunotherapy from china

Oh I am so sorry to see this update. Yes there are groups that deal with this new treatment…issue is it is not approve in the US so you have to go through the black market and administer yourself. I hope it is approved soon here in the US soon…definitely check out that group.

Oh dear. I’m sorry that you are going through all this. I was going to chime in on the diarrhea and some things you can do. I don’t have any knowledge on FIP. Keep us posted on any updates. Sending hugs and prayers for a speedy recovery.
