Hi all! It’s been a while since I posted, but I am having some feelings of guilt and worry since bringing home a 2nd kitty.
I love my sweet baby Fisher. He is a black neutered sphynx and I’ve had him for 2 years. We are inseparable and always have been. He has been with me through everything and is my best friend. In December I decided to get him a brother because I work long shifts and I knew he was lonely. So we brought home Howl, a lykoi, in early January. We took the right steps and kept them apart and introduced them slowly. Everything was great but it’s been nothing but trouble since then for poor Fisher.
He and Howl get along great technically, he grooms Howl who is 6 months old and is a ball of energy. But he gets relentlessly attacked by Howl at every opportunity because he’s so energetic.
Howl will jump on him when he’s minding his own business, then when he hisses and tries to walk away, he’ll jump on him again. He attacks Fisher when he is sleeping, when he’s trying to get cuddles, any time. There’s a huge fuss and Fisher will hiss and growl and swat him away. Fisher will sometimes initiate this and have fun but mostly it is unwarranted and unwanted play/stalking. When Fisher tries to groom him, Howl will attack him!
We’ve tried everything. Feliway, tiring Howl out, Fisher has tons of hiding places, we have plenty litter boxes and they are very healthy, etc.
Fisher is aloof now and doesn’t even sleep with me and my fiancé which he has ALWAYS done. He jumps when we go to pet him. He still plays and eats as much as usual but it’s not the same.
We miss Fisher. We love Howl so much but Fisher is our everything. I don’t want to send Howl back to his breeder but we’re worried this is stressing him out too much.
Please give any advice/suggestions. Pics of both below of course. ❤️
