I will try to get some pregnant belly pics for ya! This is her second litter==her first was with Moody and produced all tuxedo kits during the great illness that she brought from her breeder's and that swept through my other cats and kittens like wildfire. I lost all but two of her five kits along with 27 others before we wiped out whatever it was she brought into my home. 30 out of 32 kits died from whatever it was she had--everybody got sick, but the little ones weren't able to survive it. I had Moody neutered and this will be our first litter since a year ago. Othie Marie is also pregnant. Boo is the daddy--he is white w/aqua eyes and Lulu is sealpoint which always have blue eyes. Othie is a tortie girl with yellow eyes. Am praying all will go well and that we will soon have gorgeous little babes running all over the house again. I LOVE kittens when they are starting to venture out of the nest and come crawling up my leg to come for a snuggle.

**Dawn, any baby would be darn lucky to live with you!
**Debbie and family--yes, we are very excited! How are Pruney and Mabel doing? Would love to see those pics you wrote me about earlier.

OMG!!! You lost 30 kittens???? I would have died myself! Again... I could never be a breeder. What was the sickness? Just a virus or something more serious? I'm so sorry, Susi... That must have been devastating.

OK... So Boo is Mink.. If you have kittens that are seal mink (that is what it is called, right?) I will die... That is my someday dream kitten...

Good luck with the birth and can't wait to see photos!!!

After vet bills I thought would bankrupt me and coming home to something dying everyday for months, we never did find out what it was. The vets were stumped--we tried everything to heal everybody. Even the necropsy on one of the dead kits failed to show anything but the obvious pneumonia. It was negative for everything else. It was some kind of virus and it just had to run its course I guess. I was so heartsick! To tube feed, inject sub-q fluids, take nightly runs to the vet with yet another emergency, pray, scream, and cry as you sit there helplessly watching the sweetest little angels slip away, was a torture I wouldn't wish on anyone. My vet asked me over and over again why I brought another cat into my closed cattery to cause me such trouble. Breeding up until that point was a wonderfully happy experience--I thought I'd never live through it. But here we go again.....here she is with her belly today:

Here are her two surviving kittens:

and here she is being a very proud mommy:

It was the first time I realized what a good bunch of caring, kind folks are here--all of a sudden I was being sent money and gifts from many of our members--trying to help in any way they could. I couldn't believe that people who had never even laid eyes on me would send me their hard earned money to help with my vet bills, and they sent comfort things for my cats, and gifts to cheer me up too. I cried myself silly over all the kindesses I was shown by this place. I loved it before that, but I have adored it --and all of you--ever since. For me, Sphynx Lair is a sacred place. I have never felt more loved anywhere.

She is a precious fat little momma, Susi. Did you keep the 2 kittens that survived? And are these your first litters since the "illness"??

No, my sister kept Zuchini, now called Zulu and a second time buyer returned to get Rambo to be a little brother to one of my earlier babies, Bowser. Yep, these will be the first litters since, as Boo finally came of age. Boo is a gorgeous boy I got from our own havingalook. I can't wait to see their kits--everything about Boo is quality. He's beautiful and he and Lulu together should produce some pretty babies! I'm just glad that everybody is healthy now and that I shouldn't have to worry so much and will just be able to enjoy them this time around.

YAY:ThumbsUp:

Prayers and purrs that all goes smooth and these kittens heal all of your emotional (and physical now) pain from the past!!
