Mysterious lump

Hello
I'm wondering if anyone knows if this could be a cyst or fatty deposit?? I'm sure it wasn't there yesterday, I'm petting Horatio constantly and I think I would have noticed it. It's on his back to the left of his left shoulder blade. We have a vet appointment tomorrow to see. The breeder thought maybe it was the injection site from his vaccine, but that was 2 weeks ago. Horatio will be 6 months old on Aug 10.

My little dude had a lump like this that showed up at an injection site three weeks after the injection. It got huge! I panicked and took him to the vet and they biopsied it. It came back fine, and within a couple more weeks the lump went down.

It sounds like the consensus is injection site inflammation but please let us know how things got with the vet.

Thanks everyone! Is it normal to develop a lump at the injection site? And is it something to be worried about? Of course I'm worried, but is this something dangerous?

I completely understand. I panicked when my baby had a lump. The vet didn't seem to be concerned. She pointed out that a lot of cats might have the same reaction, we just don't see it because of the fur. I would definitely consult with the vet to be sure, but as long as it goes down in a few weeks, it should be fine.

@Horatio , agree with great advice
I would call your vet and let them know about the lump and Confirm it was an injection site.

ask if they would like a pic emailed to them.
My vet suggests emailed pics and calls back the same day with advice /imstructions

Ok, so it turns out that there are 2 lumps. The first one I noticed yesterday morning and the 2nd I noticed last night. The 2nd one is on the opposite side...
Took him to the vet and he said the first lump could be from the vaccine, but not the second one. He doesn't know what they are, said to watch them and if they get bigger we have to go back and he will use a syringe to remove some of whatever it is and we'll go from there. No inflammation at either site. No swollen lymph nodes. I will post more pics here.

Mmm that's strange. No bugs (mosquito, wasp?) in your house that can cause these lumps?
Hope the lumps will disappaer in a few days!

Are they hard or soft and squishy? Could be a number of things. Please keep us posted!

They feel like a solid piece of fat. I can move them under the skin, like they're not attached to underlying tissue. Not hard, but not quite squishy

Hello everyone!
I'm happy to say that the lumps are almost gone!
I found out some disturbing news about the vet though...
Not only did he not follow the newer protocol of giving the rabies vaccine in the hind quarter instead of the shoulder area, but he re-uses his needles!!
Apparently he also gives a shot of penicillin during each surgery so I think what may have happened is this: he gave the rabies shot, refilled the syringe with penicillin and injected that on the other side causing a smaller lump there.
It isn't just heresay about him reusing the needles, he's actually under investigation for it and apparently has said "they're just animals"
Needless to say, I am looking for a new vet
I shudder to think about what could have happened to my little Horatio ❤️
And I was going to let that vet operate on Horatio's entropion!

@Horatio yikes that is quite unnerving to hear about how the vet does that with needles. Hoping you find a new vet comes highly recommended.
