I am in serious need of help with my cat,I've had him for just over a year now and I love him dearly but I cannot give him the time he needs, I live alone now and he just spend every minute of the evening meowing and I am at a point of being stressed out and losing sleep over it, when he is not meowing he is kneeding his bed making rather disturbing noises, he's very unaffectionate and I don't know what to do, geting another cat is not an option,I live in Manchester uk

I know it’s a tough decision to make, but if your heart isn’t set on it we would also be happy to try and help you work through any issues he has.

I don't know if he has any issues, he's an otherwise healthy and very energetic boy he just meows constantly through the early hours and because I work alot I don't want to also lock him alone in the living room whilst I sleep but it's starting to get to that point

Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone who could take him on and I'm not in a position to take on another cat. Anubis has settled but is making Dajjal's life hell so adding another cat wouldn't be a good idea. I'll keep my ear to the ground and if I hear of anyone looking for a sphynx I'll direct them toward this thread.

He is beautiful and if I were in a position to adopt I would, however our girl Kiwi does not get on well with others . I think there is a sphynx cat rescue in the UK, or at least used to be. They may be able to give the help and advice you need and ensure he goes to a suitable home x

For what it’s worth, I shut one of mine in my office at night so I can sleep. He’s still very happy to see me in the morning and has several choices of cushy beds he can use. There is no harm in giving him a separate room to sleep in.

@Staceyxxx , do you know anyone? passing along to network.
Aww this is so sad. I will ask around and research rehoming places in Manchester or nearby as am in Scotland - like 5 hours away.

My girl hates other cats or any other living thing which takes attention from her LOL. Or I would have considered taking him!

Bless I know this have been a hard decision to come too Xxx

I would initially contact sphynx cat association uk - regarding rehoming.

They’re a Facebook - rehome Sphynx’s uk. Sorry I don’t have FB so can’t open the page to find out the location.

Cat protection in Manchester will assist also. Xx

Sorry - unsure if you have tried this- just a thought before bed - i spend around 30-45 mins playing with my kitty - she has a wheel she runs on or chasing games - after this she will usually settle for the night! I often work at home and during my lunch I will spend 10- 15 mins playing also. As routine is crucial to her and for me to get peace to get on with my work. Although they r times she will interrupt a mst meeting.

The cat music channel on you tube also helps - the one with purring. She usually settles after playtime with her music. Like she knows break time is over. It did take time for this to work like a week or two.

My kitty isn’t the most affectionate and everything is on her terms. She can at times consistently meow if she wants to play. I find these little smelly catnip toys help to promote independent play - just leave them around the house - I hide some at times. Or rolled up paper works just the same.

Hope this helps until you find the perfect home for him!

Xxxx

Heya, just seen you're still trying to rehome your little one.

Could you give me some more information please? Do you know how he is with other cats?
When you say he's not affectionate is it that he doesn't like fuss at all or that's its very much on his terms? My persian loves a fuss but only when she allows it, she isnt aggressive, just struts away back chatting at you for daring to give her fuss

edit to tag @kaijago
