I received a secondary necropsy report from Michigan State University on Violet's necropsy--it was negative for herpes (thank God--that is a wonderful thing to know) and all the other diseases they have checked for so far--they say there will be a final addendum when all the rest of the cytology is back. The official cause of death is apparent pneumonia. Which I found really surprising, as she also didn't have any symptoms--but she and Noel must've contracted something from Rosie who I had had in the vet the night before with a URI.

As for the rest of the crew--most of them have been without any kind of symptom at all for a couple of weeks--the sunshine and the extended dose of doxy seems to have cleared up the one or two that had the occasional sneeze. I have become paranoid about everything and now that I am on spring break, and the weather is beautiful, I am opening all my windows and deep cleaning my house. Hopefully that will kill any germ that dares to remain.

That is great it is not herpes.
There is something going around.
It should get better now that the weather is warming up.
Germs will not spread as fast.
Sorry again about your cats/kittens.

That's good news!...It must be in the air..Every one has sick cats.. I'm so worried for my babies.. I'm about to lock my door, and not let anyone in my house tell my berries are older. I'm so happy everyone else is looking good:BigSmile:.

Gee whiz, I am learning so much - I didn't even know cats could get herpes. I am happy for you that the test came back negative.

Well that is good news. Hopefully with some airing out everything will go out the windows and stay away! So is it possible all the others had pneumonia too? I would think that there has too be something going on that has taken all these precious babies! I hope they find it! If it is pneumonia what can be done to make sure no more babies get it? Big hugs Susi!

You always put your cats first. We've seen time and time again how much they mean to you, plus you're just a genuinely nice person

I hope this is the end of it and you can go onwards and upwards
