Hi guys! So my husband and I (and my naked baby + furry baby) have moved in a new house (yay). I am just looking for a couple of tips. First problem I have is that Amadeus (my naked baby) wipes his eye gunk on the walls. Me being new to home owner I put 409 on it to clean it and its slightly discolored the wall (oopsie) so what do y'all use to clean their eye boogers off walls/floors etc? I am CONSTANTLY cleaning his little face I don't know what else to do!
#2 What shampoo should I be using to clean him? I was using the one my breeder recommended but after more research and googling questions my shampoo is used for showing. It strips all his natural oils off and even though it makes him squeaky clean, 2 days later he is FILTHY. I tried putting a shirt on him a couple weeks back and for some strange reason he didn't produce that much oil. His shirt is in the wash now and I am about to order a couple more (my husband thinks this is ridiculous lol) but I was hoping someone had a shampoo alternative that I could use mainly and then just occasionally use the one I have?
#3 I need nooks and crannies for my cat to climb and hide and such! Due to the old cat tree being too bulky and very heavy we have decided to sell it. With that being said I am looking for a high up bed for amadeus (he loves to sleep). But I also want him to be able to climb on things he's allowed to be on if that makes sense? We don't have room for a traditional cat tree but I was hoping someone could point me to a creative solution? something I can incorporate into the house? I was thinking of shelving on the walls and maybe a cat window but I am worried of cleaning those surfaces- anyone have any advice?
#4/#5 I need help finding cat treats. Amadeus won't eat ANY of the ones I have bought for him. The only thing he likes as a treat is tuna and when he slyly steals wet dog food (this has been an issue as well). He also NEVER plays with any of his toys I have mounds of toys for him and the only things he takes interest in is hunting down my 3lb 10 year old chihuahua or catching flies that make there way into the house. I want to get rid of his toys that he doesnt use (donate them to a shelter or something) but I don't want to get rid of them until I have something for him?
#6 HE DOESNT LIKE SCRATCHING POSTS. He won't use a scratching post but he will use my favorite chair I have put kitty naps on him for now but I don't always want to have to do this! I don't think its healthy for the cat and I want to heal the problem not put a bandaid over the problem. Anyone have ideas? I have a pheromone plug in that I bough several weeks back. He was a WRECK with the new move. We were so excited with the move I didn't even think that I had to slowly introduce Amadeus to the new space but that plug in has SAVED OUR LIVES. It has worked WONDERS. Amadeus is calm and happy and loves all this new space to run in. But he still wants to scratch. I know this is a natural thing and thats fine I just don't want him tearing up our nice furniture. What can I do to alleviate this problem? I had (as mentioned above) a very NICE cat tree with 4 scratching post alternatives. He never took to the cat tree. I mean the only part he "used" was the little hole to sleep in up high. What else can I do? I do have scrap carpet that I am saving bc I think he would like the texture? I am always into DIY projects so if anyone has something like that I am down for it!
Sorry for the novel
