Hey guys!

I'm happy to announce that I'm awaiting the arrival of a little baby of my very own in my new flat - she's a gorgeous little bambino (didn't actually realise at first, just fell for her little face; bright eyes and blep tongue!)

For starters, I'm in the UK, so my questions are mainly for people who can give pointers/suggestions for UK specific things.

The breeder currently feeds Royal Canin dry food, raw food and kitten pate. So ideally I would not want to take her away from a raw diet - which I've generally heard good things about anyway. So a question I have is what would be some good options in the UK to see my kitten healthy and happy? A lot of suggestions I've found through searching the forums sadly don't appear to ship the UK anymore or are excessively bank-breaking (one brand is nearly £6 per 250ml tub and that's not something I could afford long-term).

Also, what kind of treats do you guys recommend?

My next question is shampoo! Is there any good ones I can get in the UK? I don't really want to go for the Johnson's sensitive which is often recommended as I've heard it isn't pH balanced and that since it's a human shampoo, it simply isn't really designed for cats. Plus, I'm convinced it was what was giving my friend's sphynx rashes and acne. But the main brand people recommend a lot is not readily available to purchase or ship to the UK, sadly.

Last, is there any particular brands of nail-clippers and ear oils/cleansers that are particularly suitable? Again, seems to be so many varying opinions, and so much just isn't currently available in the UK anymore which seems to be rapidly narrowing down my choices. So figured best to ask those of you who are much more knowledgeable than me!

Just want to be able to give my little girl the best I'm possibly able and a happy, loving life.

Hope you're all well!

Hiya, welcome to the group.

I can't help with the raw food aspect of your question but I can offer suggestions for the others. I use Dorwest Oatmeal Shampoo on Rankle which is gentle on his skin but cuts through the grease. We haven't had any issues with skin problems in the two years we've been using it. For ear cleaning I use Epiotic.

Good luck with your little peanut when she arrives. I hope the time doesn't drag until gotcha day.

Thank you - that's actually super helpful. Will be posting like a madwoman no doubt once she arrives hahaha. I love the colouring on your little baby in your icon! That little dark splodge over the nose just makes me smile <3

Oh, I think I actually heard those spoken of before (Dorwest & Epiotic) - so that makes me feel a lot more at ease to hear them mentioned again. Thanks so much, that's really super helpful <3

Haha, thank you - they're already dragging in but the breeder periodically sends pictures and little videos which is keeping me going!
