So Early has been in need of a playmate for quite a while; although it was clear to me, my boyfriend didn't see until we were babysitting our friends' cats and he was much more happy and well behaved.
SO now we're in the market! I'm considering a bangel or a little one-eyed girl from the shelter. We've got some time to wait before we settle on one, as we're still cat-sitting.
Everyone here knows the unique confident, talkative sphynx personality and I was wondering if anyone has any advise regarding a complementry breed? I'd love another sphynx but I think that this time I need to rescue a cat to restore my bleeding heart karma so to speak haha... I'll not go the breeder route this time, it was rough justifying paying so much when there are perfectly good kitties at the humane society

So! fun cat breeds with lotsa energy and little need for personal space ( Early gives NO ONE space lol)

I vote for the one eyed girl--if she's in a kill shelter she propbably won't get chosen and deserves a chance for love.

I'd go for the one eyed girl, poor thing. Or go to a kill shelter and save the kitty that's least likely to be adopted.

Yeah, I like the little girl but she's shy and timid... Which won't help her much with Early, I was hoping for a more bold extrovert

I vote for her also.
I have timid cats and they have worked out well with my sphynx.
Polar beats up Wrinkles and his sister Cleoe but not the other cats.
No one will adopt the one eyed.

I think you are on the right track regarding finding the right personality fit. Early will probably enjoy a companion that matches his activity level and likes to cuddle at nap time. A warm furry coat probably would be a plus.

Just another agreement for a rescue kitty, be it one with 1 eye or another that no one else wants! I have had nothing but rescues for the last 20 years and agree, I did feel slightly guilty about buying a cat this time round!
Also, dont forget if they are timid in a shelter, this may not always be the case once they are in a loving, happy environment!

I have a three legged kitty that plays very well with my Spyhnx kitty. He was in a kill shelter and it was his last day when we found him. So I would also go with the one-eyed girl. How old is she? If she is young her personality still has time to come out.

P.S. That is him in my avatar :)

I have always followed my heart when I got animals from the shelter. I would take the one eye girl for sure but I am the worst for feeling sorry for them. True she will not be the first adopted and she may come around once she is comfortable. I got one from a shelter that seemed really timid and when she was home she really came to life.

So my vote is for the one eye girl as well.

When it comes to shelter cats I've always been one to get the ugliest or shy, mean, timid, what ever it is, kitty that no one seems to want just to ensure it gets a happy home. Then I work like heck to show it love and compassion and I've always been able to turn them around and they make lovely pet companions and house pets.
The one eyed girl sounds wonderful. Tabbies always steal my heart too!
