ok I’m well aware I’m newbie bare with me, and forgive possibly silly questions. So last Monday July 13th we brought home our tiny Boy Rumple. He’s 15 weeks almost 16 now.
however this guy is filthy- how do you stretch cleanliness between baths? hes only had one bath here as it’s been a week but his ears, his body and nails are so grubby. I’ve cleaned his ears 3 times in our first week and gave his nails some attention, Polished off oils and clipped Them. But he’s built back up those oils on his nails by the next day. His little wrinkles are dirty again and his ears appear to need daily cleaning. (Daily!? Excessive right?) He does have a vet appointment on Friday July 24th earliest we could get in. Is this typical for a young Sphynx? He appears to be a healthy active boy who eats well, he does seems to be under weight you can see his spine slightly and some ribs, but his kitty box doesn’t show signs of worms or health issues very healthy looking poops and good size pees and very regular.
He has access to food and water 24/7 here.

Thankyou so much! I’ve been trying to hunt down hylyt in Canada. May have to order from a US site and wait for shipping. I will definitely look for the TrizULTRA plus Keto for his ears.

Rumple is so darn handsome, those eyes! I find two of mine get really oily nails too. I've never actually checked but I'm sure if I did the day after spa day they'd be black again. I also have to clean in their toe wrinkles as stuff builds up in there.

I feel like mine were way more dirty as kittens. The precision q tips work really well for getting the gunk out of their intricate ear spots. Since I've switched to the same stuff @Sheldon13 mentioned above I notice that their ears are much less waxy every Saturday for our weekly cleaning session.

Sometimes certain foods make them greasier. I know @Yoda mom switched her kitties and they stayed cleaner way longer!

I usually order the shampoo from Petsdrugmart.com but I was browsing yesterday and noticed that its not listed there anymore! I'm wondering if its just sold out currently because I can't find it on amazon either. For the ear cleaner I order it on the US amazon for about $40 CAD but it lasts forever (I'd say a year for 3 cats, I use it to clean their nails too). I usually ship it to my US mailbox but that's not really an option with the current state of the world :( I'll link the amazon anyway for future reference

If you're interested in feeding raw I feed Big Country Raw, they're located in Smithville, ON but you can find it in Pet Valu, Rens, ect!

What a good looking boy. Great advice given. Just a friendly reminder to bring a poop sample when you get a wellness check. If not putting on weight, it could just be worms.

Welcome to sphynxlair. Rankle is a very handsome cutie. I have 3 sphynx, one gets dirty really fast like Rankle. I learned to not clean to much. The more you clean the dirtier he probably get.

Update.

So Rumple was seen by our vet and he’s just slightly under weight but not due to any parasites,Thankfully. They also checked his ears turns out he’s has a yeast infection that they suspect is allergies, our vet suggested limiting his diet to one protein only, in case it’s his food and watch from their then slowly expand his proteins as we cancel out foods. We were also given medical drops for his ears. He’s now back home and back to his happy self purring and snuggling
