we now are proud owners of a sphynx kitten that we have now had for about 3 weeks. What a beautiful character he is and I couldn’t be happier. Just a few questions... I have read to bath him once a week but he gets so dirty over night from getting sweaty, sleeping under the bed covers. Can anyone suggest how to clean him up in between baths as I don’t want to dry his skin out. He is a seal minx sphynx, so beautiful but naughty as hell. I’ve been told this is the character of the sphynx, I prefer to think he’s just very cheeky indeed. I’ve been using Johnson’s baby shampoo but is there any shampoo anyone could suggest that I can buy in England.

@Osiris22 welcome to sphynxlair. Love reading your intro about your cheeky boy.
The more you bath him, the dirtier he'll get. You can try clean him with babywipes or a wet washcloth in between baths. Johnson is used a lot as a shampo. Just like d'Grease and Hylyt but I don't think you can buy that in England, at least not here in the Netherlands

Thank you for your reply. This is such a great site to find out information from others who also own these wonderful cats. I will try the wipes. I have to say I have never met such an affectionate breed they are adorable. But thank you again for the information.

Welcome. Just a heads up, if you do not rinse well after bathing, they will get dirty very quickly, yes like over night. Rule of thumbs is rinse until you know the shampoo is off, then rinse one more time.

@Osiris22 Welcome to the lair family! Can't wait to see pics! What's your babies name?

You will find a spa day routine that works for your babies skin amd be sure to rimse thoroughly
Exfoliating gloves are great for cleaning kitty amd holding wet kitty !

You want to make sure not to overbath either
With time you will find a routine that works best for your babies skin.

Honestly I actually do not bath my 4 once a week
I want their skin to do its natural thing too
So I can go a month between full baths with touch ups in between .

Baby wipes didn't work so great on my wrinkly girl .
So I bought baby face clothes .
I add a teenie few drops of their Hylyt shampoo in a big pitcher of warm water for wipes downs between full bath spa days .
Nails amd ears I do twice a week .
I actually domt flush the ears
I wet cotton rounds with ear cleaner and gently wipe ears.
I wet qTips amd precision qTips for gently cleaning ear skin folds

You will see lots of great threads of tips amd shampoos
Amd find what works best for your baby

Excited you joined us!
Jump in and enjoy this fun friendly bunch

Look forward to lots of pics amd tales!
Sure others in your area will chime in with shampoo amd spa day product suggestions
