Hello all ! I’ve recently adopted a female Dwelf I drove 14 hours to go get her and realized she was sick during the car ride home . Turns out she has conjunctivitis and feline herpes :( I paid 2500 for her and the breeder was pressing me to give her 500 more for breeding rights (even went as far as to suggest I don’t have the funds to pay for rights and that I was making it up that the kitten was ill )but I’m pretty sure she is not going to be able to breed with my male sphynx when she’s of age anymore . Now the woman refuses to give me my money back nor has she offered to take her back (I don’t mind because obviously this woman hasn’t cared for her well and she’s all about the money ) .I’m making a case to present to court because I want this woman to have her breeding program shut down because there was other kittens that she was trying to sell that looked very sickly after I picked up mine .I was wondering will this kitten ever be aloud to be around my male sphynx without giving him herpes or will I always have to keep them separate . My male sphynx has been staying at my boyfriends home just to be sure he wouldn’t get sick from her and I’m not sure what’s my next move at the moment .

This is a lot to take in I’m a little overwhelmed with it all because all this has happened within two days so sorry if I’m all over the place I just wanted to give a brief description of what I’m going through with this breeder and my concerns for this kitten and my other hairless baby

I am so sorry you have to go through this. I do not know the answer to your questions but I am sure the ladies here will be able to answer.

Yes, Herpes is contagious and will pass to your boy.

I do highly recommend you go through with the legal action. I doubt you will come out on top financially, but this woman needs to never breed again if these cats are suffering.

I’m not sure what solution to offer for the new kitty but usually they are best in homes with other Herpes positive kitties.
