Hi everyone!
My boyfriend and I adopted our little Mildred (we call her Millie) about 3 1/2 weeks ago and we are IN LOVE! We are both new to the breed but so happy we took the leap! Millie is a playful, energetic, and loving chocolate lynx point, and the cutest kitty I've ever seen (no offense but you know, mom bias). She has been super happy despite having some tummy troubles but we just had a vet appointment today and she is taking some medicine to help her! I had been reading up on some of the threads before I registered because of her tummy troubles and just decided to register since I was on here so much.

Omg, Millie is adorable. We have only had our little girl Juicy for about 5 weeks and we are in love. I have never had a cat in my life and I am so happy in our choice. She is our first cat and is only 5 months old and 4lbs. Where did you find the hat and sweater to fit her? All the extra extra small sweaters I bought are too big for her right now.

Thank you! At the vet today, Millie weighed in at 4.6 lbs. The sweaters are still a little bit big, but we got them at Walmart and Petco! Xxsmalls.

@acook3593 so happy you went from lurker to active member lol. Millie is beautiful. Why did your vet diagnose the tummy issues to be caused by?

Thank you! And she said it could just be bacteria (?). Said it could have been something she ate. We had cat grass out initially but threw it away once her stools became loose. So I’m not sure if it could be associated with that? But they put her on an antibiotic/ anti diarrheal. And she does NOT like it lol

Thank you for all the concern with Millie's tummy troubles! Initially, she was having loose stools, belly gurgles, and VERY gassy (SUPER SMELLY) but wasn't acting sick or lethargic or anything. We tested her stools twice and both were negative for parasites. The vet said it could just be bacteria and put her on Metronidazole twice a day for a week and while she was on it, it helped. She wouldn't keep the liquid down on its own so we gave her a baby spoonful of wet food with it and she finished it all that way. Tuesday was her last day on it and Wednesday night her stools were loose again. We have been feeding her the same food the breeder was giving her since we got her. We even stopped the wet food altogether (before the antibiotic)because we thought that could be the issue. So now she has her rabies vaccine on Tuesday and we will ask again about it.
On another note, our little girl woke up this morning with this raised red bump on her neck. About 4x4mm. I initially thought she had cut herself and it was dried blood but it wouldn't come off with a wipe and I noticed it was raised. I haven't noticed her scratching it so I'm not sure if it's itchy. Anyone else have experience with this? (Or tummy troubles?)

@acook3593 , positve vibes sent

I switched my crew from Acana to Nutrisource cat and kitten food (no recalls )with great results . i went bonkers doing food trials with my IBD kitty - now I can free feed and go without any issues
Cat & Kitten Chicken Meal, Salmon & Liver Cat Food - NutriSource Pet Foods

Mine seem to do better on grain inclusive . I read hairball formulas have been good for poo issues - I feed mine as treats kibble - science diet urinary hairball-
I kmow how frustrating it was trying to find a food that works -
Some members found raw or a Better in the Raw u stew food works good too
Positve vibes sent

As for the mark on her neck - so,e of our kitties get these marks from rubbing against things like the sisal rope on a cat tree etc
Does it come off with a little warm water and coconut oil ?

Keep us updated often

We talked to the breeder and she suggested the nature balance duck and pea formula so we are going to try that. And the scab fell off this morning and everything is fine underneath! Thanks for your concern!

The natural balance duck and pea has been popular here

Yah, So glad the scab fell off !
Many of us keep on hand vetericyn spray

Let us know how the food works
My understanding there was an ingredients change to the duck and pea formula this year

Just started the duck and pea formula today ( we expected loose stools still because she just started the food) but she threw up today. Whole food. Just eating too quick? We are getting worried.
