Hello! My name is Kizzy and i'm from Detroit, Michigan! I have 2 naked babies!! They are my everything! :) Im having difficulty typing because one of them love to be snuggled in a ball in my arms, pretty much at all times! but i'd have it no other way!!
Bronx-e (bronxy) is my male. He's white. I don't know the technical terms for colors. maybe you guys could tell me. :) so Bronxe is my baby! my Fiance' bought him for me about 3 years ago as a valentines/bday gift. he came from a breeder in Michigan. Beatrix (Bea) is a daddy's girl! We came across an ad on Criagslist offering her for free because she had a 'skin condition' and the owners didn't know how to treat it. Ironically, after receiving over 100 emails, we were the family chosen to adopt Bea. She fits perfectly in our family! God sent her us and she completes our little family! :) Bea is a light blackish color girl. beyond our naked babies, we have an English bully that we show and plan to breed. my Fiance' has 3 children. we are one large dysfunctional family :)

Hello and Welcome!! What kind of skin condition did she have? Did you get it fixed? I am glad that you got her so that you could take good care of her!! They are both super cute. Can't wait to hear more stories and see lots of pictures!

Thanks guys! Bea's condition cleared up shortly after she came home to us. We originally had a Dr's appointment set up for a week after her arrival, but transition was VERY hard for her. It took MONTHS before she felt comfortable to play, run freely.. it made me cry daily, i felt terrible for her. Our male was diagnosed with IBD, so we give him Iam's hairball formula and do pumpkin and activia (switch it up). it actually works very well for him. After speaking to the dr on the phone about her transition and what we should do for food, he thought we should try her on the same hard food. which we did (family didn't bring food with her to drop off). She did great on the new diet and after researching the pumpkin was good for skin also, we started her on that! she has done WONDERFUL on the diet!! so the vet and i decided since this was working for her, that she was ok without a check up. Some people may not like that... but she doesn't do good AT ALL with change. the least amount of time she is away from home the better she is. Her skin has cleared up considerably. here and there she'll get a 'break out' (which is mostly just darker spots on her skin) but mostly she's fine. and has fattened up too!!
im not a bad kitty momma, i do take them to the vet, as needed. Bronxe get URI's from the season changes.. mostly allergy related. so he goes a few times a year. but other then Bea's skin, she's healthy and doesn't seem to need to go.

Hello and welcome!!!

I only take mine to the vet "as needed", there is nothing wrong with that.
Food is a big help with skin issues, people buy these kittens ant then try to feed them Walmart brand food and then wonder why they have skin issues..:Dizzy:... It was good for you though, you got a new baby..

Hello klreese, my fellow Michiganian! Welcome to Sphynx Lair--one of the kindest places I know. I'm about a 2 hour drive from you, in Belding--35 miles NE of Grand Rapids. Glad to have your join us. Your babies are beautiful. It's great to be owned by sphynx isn't it? I just recently started my cats on yogurt, but wan't using activia--some organic one with active cultures. Does Activia come in plain? Also, where are you finding the pumpkin--none of the stores around here have any all of a sudden.

Hey everyone! Wow, thanks for all the warm welcomes!! So very sweet. My kitties and i were doing what we love to do together: nap :) and of course my knees are sore from sleeping in awkward positions, having my knees bent crazy-like, so that they are comfy! Oh, the stuff we do for our "fur-less" babies!
And thanks for the compliments- all your babies are beautiful too! ive been searching the albums! :)

Hi Susi! I'm in Southfield, which is a suburb of detroit. I went to college up by you though, Ferris State.. it's in Big Rapids.
Activia does come in plain/vanilla they also have a berry one too. my kitties prefer vanilla though. and actually the pumpkin, i haven't been able to find either!!! i usually stock up and recently ran out of my supply. I dont feed it everynight. it seems they get a little bored. so i feed it every few nights then stop for a few nights, ya know. and rotate with the yogurt.
And yes, i'm VERY blessed to be owned by my babies! im SO allergic to ... well... everything LOL. including all of my babies! John (finace') bought Bronxe (white kittie) as a gift and thankfully Bea fell into our hands. i love my babies so much!
