Lots of great advice, but if you can get a scan at that great of a price, I would get it done any which way. I hope your baby is okay- I was checking out his blog the other day- just loved it
LOL, it is a great price compared to the $400 I was expecting to pay. If it makes you feel better though, It will cost us $300 for gas and a cheap motel to get there, and another $50 to use the toll bridge. So we are very lucky the scan is so cheap, otherwise we would have to wait longer and save up a bit. Either way, I am very thankful!
The funny thing is, my spouse and I would happily just sleeping in our car for the trip to save money....but I would feel bad about Nofuratu not being able to get out and stretch his legs and run around like a maniac after the long drive! LOL isnt it silly how we put our pets above ourselves!
I was surprised by the low cost of the scan, but animal welfare is not popular where we live. I think New Brunswick is one of the poorest provinces in Canada, and vet clinics are struggling just to educate people about vaccines. In the small town where we live most cats are outdoors, and dogs are chained permanently to their dog houses. No one has even heard of heartworm prevention. It is very sad.
But the people are struggling too. Lots of our neighbors houses are a mess of old wood, tar paper and plastic stapled on the outside to keep the wind out. Food banks are empty. And it was like this BEFORE the economic crisis. People out here think we are bonkers spending money on a cat! But he brings us all so much joy! And of course Nofuratu's website fans dont think its silly at all....they, and you guys, understand!
