Not ready to say goodbye

These past two days I've been reading about such tragedy.
I'm holding on to my boys extra tight tonight.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It seems Nuney heard them. 2 hours after they told me I needed to make a decision and we went in to be with him, they told me he had started to improve. His temperature returned to normal and he was regulating his blood pressure on his own. He still had a lot of fluid in his lungs and was breathing fast but he was meowing and rubbing up on the cage and trying to escape! It was a complete turn around. So we decided that if he was going to fight we were going to let him!!! He spent a total of 3 days in cardiology ICU and this morning I got the best phone call of my life they called and said he is purring, meowing, and destroying his cage and I needed to come get him! Bad news is he has HCM for sure, his CHF is resolving, but his blood pressure was too low for too long and he now has permanent kidney damage. Even the cardiologist can't believe the his turn around. So we are going to try medications at home and just take it day by day. But he has been home since 11am this morning and has been sleeping more comfortable then I've ever seen him. We are sooooo thankful. Our next milestone is to get him to his recheck appt. in 5 days.

That is great news considering all that happened!! I hope that he has many happy frisky days ahead of him!!

Thank you so much for the update, Sphynxies. I'm sorry that you and Nuney still have to face HCM, but I'm glad this acute crisis is over and he is home where he belongs. Although HCM may shorten your time together, it will never take away the love you share. Sending you good vibes to help you stay strong. Give him a kiss on the forehead for me.

I am glad he is home and sorry he had kidney problems now.
My old cat has CRF and they now believe she has CHF.
They are talking about some kind of heat meds to give her.

This is great! He sounds like a fighter and is not ready to give up yet! Just take things one day at a time and cherish every moment you have! It is too bad about his kidneys. Hopefully they can help a bit with meds? Keep us updated and let us know what happens with his recheck!
