Hi there, does anyone could give me an advice when is the best age to neuter my sphynx, he's now turning 6 months and he's starting to behave strangely, calling a lot!!! I really would like to have a full grown cat, therefore I really don't know when is the best period to be neutered, on internet there are so many crap information that I am getting confused!! Thanks to all!!

6 months is when we did it at the recommendation of the vet and our breeder.

I was worried about spraying , having 2 males

They are strong and healthy boys :)

Totally agree...book it for this week. Update us and we will send positive thoughts. Many have found ketamine is not a recommended anesthesia for the Sphynx breed ...so be sure to mention to your vet and see what other options he recommends.

Like everyone else said, six months is the BEST time to have him neutered. Ketamine can kill a sphynx especially if there is a heart problem that is not detected. My vet uses a gas and keeps my boys on a heating pad (which is very important). Their boby temperature can drop too low from having surgery, so make sure you tell your vet about the heating pad while he's under and up until the time he goes home.

Theories differ about best time ( early vs later) but 6 months is the latest I would wait especially if you are seeing hormonal changes potentially occurring. Hard to break a spraying habit once it begins!
