I'm thinking about trying to start a 4-H club for cats and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the best way to do this? i know the first step is to contact my local 4-H extension office but i need to have a plan down before hand so any advice would be helpful i'm thinking about following these guidelines let me know what you think

http://www.4hfair.org/pdf/4h pdf/4-H Cat Club2009_Layout 1.pdf

this is an example of a 4-h cat club so i would imagine the one here would have about the same rules.

4-h stands for health, head heart and hands......... i know every summer in NJ there is a 4-h fair, and there are like different tents set up with different animals and you can go to each tent and learn about them (i think) i havent been to one in a few years

Yes like the kids would learn about the anatomy of cats and learn how to properly take care of their breed of cat and do project books that require them to keep track of medical and regular maintence of their pet and at the fair they would do a cat show of sorts and win ribbons.

That is a great idea! Have you written any of your ideas down...I think that would be a first step. Sort of like a business plan of sorts...

Check with your extention agent, they should have some kind of books for you to use. I have been a 4H leader for the horse group in our town. It was fun. But alot of work. I know they have dog books, I think they also have cat books. I just never looked into it because the kids in my group didn't want to do anything but horses.

Good luck!!!
