Already been done, we've been talking about this cat on the SphynxRescue Yahoo Group. The breeder that sold them this cat is not even the breeder that bred this cat, and these people bought him as a breeder - Guess they've found out what living with an intact male cat is like :( But long story short, there is no responsible breeder behind this cat to take him back and make sure he gets a decent home, so it's up to those of us that care to try to get him out of that situation and help make sure he gets a good home.

Does it look like the rescue is going to be successful in extracting him from the current owners?

What a wonderful job you are doing - I take my hat off to you, if only there were more people in the world like you. I hope you manage to get him and find him a good home.

Thanks Luvmysphynx for taking such an active roll in helping this poor poor baby! I'd have him at the drop of a hat if I was anywhere near!

Please let us know how you get on rehoming him.

Fingers and paws crossed!

X

I would take him, too, but I'm too far away in Colorado. We have some Florida members here....is there anybody here in FL who can at least foster this poor little guy?

While I agree this is sickening and disturbing I'm going to play the devils advocate here. Having done rescue for several years I've often seen stupid stuff like this, or what really makes me mad, wanting to trade one animal for another (no joke - I rescued an Afghan Hound he wanted to trade for an Italian Greyhound! Why get rid of one dog just to get another? Finally I was able to convince the jerk to take some art work I had that I was just going to take to the thrift shop anyway in exchange!) But my point on this one is at least they aren't giving him away for free, and he appears well cared for in that picture. I do hope someone good is able to get him and give him a proper home that'll cherish him for the beautiful boy he is and not just a piece of property!

I saw a woman in Denmark a while ago who was seeking sphynx but the way the add was written it sounded like she was going to get rid of her nornal cats ad get sphynx instead. I was so sad...

I'm not the one that's really doing anything to help him, I wish I could but I'm in Utah, to far away to be of real help, but I do know many of the others in the sphynx rescue group are working on getting him away and making sure he gets a good home, I'm not sure what the progress is at this moment but I'll send a message to the group and see what's going on. The problem here is, it's not really a rescue situation - The cat isn't in immediate danger, although i'd LOVE to get my hands on him and make sure at the very least he gets neutered so some dumb BYB with greed in their eyes doesn't snap him up to make money at the expense of the health of the kittens and the hearts of those who take them and love them :(

I have never seen an uglier cat. I could not stop laughing at the photos. You are selling them at that. Take some money and place an ad in the paper cheapie

Worst excuse in the book! Why would you move into an apartment that doesn't allow pets when you have a pet? I'm sorry, I have very little sympothy for people that'll use moving as an excuse to throw out their pets! I've been darn near close to living on the street myself because I refused to abandon my babies! I've lived in a 1 bedroom condo with a friend of mine with 8 dogs between us! Legal? No, but we made it work until I could find somewhere of my own that it was legal for me to have the dogs. I would never use a move as an excuse to dump them, I committed to them for their entire lives, and unless I'm unable to provide them the care they deserve to have I'd never give them up!!! I feel bad for people that are truely on hard times and can't afford the vet bills and are forced to let someone take them on that can, but I never see those people begging for money for their animals, they just want them to go to someone that'll care for them the way they wish they could!
